Is it the full moon or something?
Why are there so many shitty drivers out there lately?
I wouldn't even be posting this if it were only about left lane hoggers and people who don't know how to do 4-way stop signs.
No, this is about more than that. In the last 3-4 weeks, I've had some real close calls and on a couple of occasions, shit actually hit the fan.
About 3-4 weeks ago, some guy pulled out in front of me. I swerved to miss, but we made minor contact. The cop said the other driver was at fault. His insurance company keeps blowing me off. I'm getting sick of it.
Then while I was in Michigan visiting my family, I got hit by an old guy. We were in a parking lot... I was between the aisles, leaving the lot and a car was backing out of a spot in front of me. So naturally I stop to let them back out; and I stopped behind this minivan. The old guy said he didn't see me. How do you not see a big family sedan sitting right behind you!? He messed up my rear bumper pretty good.
Then on the way back to Alabama, I was driving through a downpour. I got cut off so many times, I lost count. People do not check their blind spots, I tell ya. At one time, I got driven off the road by this sumbitch in a red Cherokee. He just started moving into my lane, like I didn't even exist. Or maybe he thought he could bend the rules of physics and coexist with my vehicle in the same place at the same time. Either way, I was one wheel on the shoulder one wheel off the road, holding on for dear life hoping that I could make it back onto the pavement. Honking and flashing my lights didn't turn out to be effective, because obviously this fucking guy is blind and deaf. When I got next to them, the passenger was like "what the hell do you want?" Idiots, I tell ya.
Oh, and there was this girl in her new Civic EX, cruising down the left lane at a leisurely speed of 71 mph. Holy shit, she's a rebel. She's going above the speed limit. This apparently gave her the absolute right to just keep cruising in the left lane, while babbling on her cell phone. I got off the highway for a gas stop, and when I got back on and drove for a few miles, I saw a whole bunch of cop cars, a fire truck and an ambulance. Now I will give you two guesses as to what the tow truck was pulling out of the ditch, but you're only going to need one. Stupid broad.
Just today, while on my way home, this scrawny little fuckbag pulled out in front of me in his little red Civic. I had to swerve away to miss, and the whole time in my head I was thinking "what the hell, this is like an exact repeat of 3-4 weeks ago... not again." Luckily, I didn't get hit this time, but I was still pissed off. He was yapping away on his cell phone.
I can cite several more examples, but I think you get the point. I've never witnessed such a bad bunch of drivers in a period of time. If I had a beater, I would definitely be driving that instead of the TL right now. These days, I feel like I'm going into a battle zone every time I start up the car. I once read somewhere that the moon can have an effect on people's driving skills... yeah, maybe that's what it is.

I've noticed that most of the times, people with crappy/cheap cars are the worst drivers since they're not careful. In their heads, "I don't care if it's my fault, he can hit me with is nice car if he wants." I hate that frick'n attitude.
People with nice cars are more careful drivers since they want to protect their cars and avoid accidents altogether.
