Fuel Filter Question

My girlfrined has an early 90's accord, body style 90-93.. How often should the fuel filters be changed? Her car kind of "sputters" at low RPM' and at higher rpms it doesnt do it any more... any pointers guys.. my first bet would be the fuel filter or spark plugs?

always welcomed!

owners manual should tell you the interval, but it never hurts to do it sooner. if you think the filter and/or the plugs are the problem, go ahead and change them, its not too much money and it might fix the sputtering.

I don't know about the early 90-93 style service manual says. But I have a 94 I do it about every 80-100 k. It's an easy task. I'm on my 2nd replacement fuel filter. It's not as bad as your g/f but within the next year I need to replace it again.
check your plug wires and distributor and cap.
I know once I get about 90-100 k on plugs and wires their trash in my car.

Get the filter at the dealer. We bought one for our '90 Accord from Advance Auto and that thing didn't fit even though it was for a '90 Accord.

But since you're getting sputters, sounds like you need to look at the spark plugs and wires, probably the distributor too like what WaterS said.
