Fuel Cell Vehicle
Fuel Cell Vehicle
So some of you know that I deal with Maybach and Mercedes. We just got in a Mercedes Benz A Class Fuel Cell Car.
It's pretty wild, and kind of cool. It is almost completely quiet, and what sounds it does make sound like the gas grill and vacuum cleaner. If anyone wants pics let me know and I will take some of it.
It odd to have a car that is quiet, and just produces power when you hit the gas pedal.

DaimlerBenz (and then DaimlerChrysler) really has been the main driving force behind applying fuel cell technology to vehicles. During college, I worked on a 7-week exhibit design proposal at the Science Museum in London on fuel cells as alternative energy. That was back in '00, when I think they had just released their NECAR 5. We ended up using that car and a Jeep fuel cell concept as examples of current applications... not the actual cars, just pictures and descriptions.
I remember one of my team's recommendations to the Science Museum was that if they ever built the actual exhibit, that they should look into getting an NECAR for display. I don't think they thought our recommendation was very realistic.

How long does it last on one fill up? I bet its fun around town with all the torque from the electric motors.
