Fuel Additive/cleaner and all that stuff
Out of all the bottles of stuff that you can add to your gas tank to clean out your engine and improve mileage etc, is any of it any good? Like does anyone use any of that stuff and notice a difference? Just wondering
I think if you use the stuff on a relatively new car and expect extra HP or MPG, you'll be dissappointed.
If you use the stuff to prevent from LOSING hp or MPG as the car ages, then you wouldn't notice anything since it's more of a maintanance thing (like changing oil), but I think it makes a difference in that the car's engine "ages" better.
Once a year should do it to remove deposits and crap from the fuel lines.

I've used Techron on my 79 VW bus before, and have used it on all my fuel injected vehicles (a bottle every year). On the bus, I swore I could tell the difference, but since it has only 67hp, getting a good tailwind makes it seem faster...
I need to get another bottle for the CLS. I haven't put any in since over a year ago...
I use Gumout complete fuel system cleaner every 3 months, my 99TL has 108k and it does seems to respond better and accelerate a little better, but maybe its psycological. I do believe it helps though.
I have been skeptic on fuel additives, etc... Until I was shown Gumout. I took the line on and am amazed at what the 2 and 3 step kits can do for a car! It seems the older/beat the car is and lower grade fuel ran the better it works. You see all of the excess crap bellowing from the tail pipe afterwards, at which time the car runs instantly better then when it came in. I've seen some cars so bad that the cat. will actualy glow dull red, then it blows all the crap out and runs GREAT.
Give Gumout a shot, it is the real deal!(yes I do sell it, but have nothing to do with distribution or Gumout)
