Wasn't sure if this should go in Car Talk or Rambling, so I just decided to put in Rambling..

So, I got Fix-It-Ticket for not having front license plate in California. I do have my plate on right now, but I'm not too certain when the time will come for me to remove it again. So, I just wanted to find out in advance what would the penalty be for the second time for not having the front plate on..
anyone know?

 

Take the plate off and find out.

I got a front plate ticket and it was 100 dollars (got it dismissed). How much was yours? For that kind of cash I'd just leave the thing on. It isn't horrible.

 

fix it ticket is only 25 bucks... or is it county dependent?

 

No idea. I was in SF when it happened. I thought 100 was expensive and didn't think they were generally that much

 

I occasionally go to Happy Hour after work for a couple martinis and don't want to risk getting pulled over for no front plate. Plus, how often do I actually look at the front of my car? If you asked me to do a sketch of the front of the p-car, it would probably be less than an accurate depiction

 

i just got registered my car in PA no front plate anymore :P
