Friend's Car issue: Break Fluid in Power Steering resevoir

My friend put about 1/4 bottle of break fluid into his power steering fluid resevoir. Is this a HUGE issue? Would it have caused any damage? Does he need to flush the entire resevoir out, or is it fine? I suspect it's not fine, but he just needs to flush it out.

Just out of curiosity, what possessed your friend to put break fluid in his power steering tank?

I know nothing about the differences between brake fluid and power steering fluid. But I can imagine that you should probably tell your friend to have it flushed out. If they were one in the same, why call them different fluid names?

when you're working 12 hours days for a couple weeks in a row, it makes you do crazy things. we've been very busy at work, he grabbed the wrong bottle.

Drain it out, and flush the system ASAP
