Ford Mustang V6 takes on Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 and Nissan 370z

Count me as in the 5.0 camp.

Unless its a tight course i seriously doubt it
All i know is my buddies 2004 with the older lesser hp 4.6 with exhaust, aluminum driveshaft and tune wipes the floor with another buddies 370 in a straight line
The Ford, however, surprised us with its fondness for corners and ability to keep up with both the Z
Ford's righteous new 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 with 412 hp and 392 lb-ft. Gussied up in that garb, and complete with a set of Brembos, we strongly suspect the Mustang GT would wipe the floor with the Genesis Coupe 3.8 and wholly humble the winning Nissan 370Z. But alas, that's another comparison.

^^^Uh, anecdotal evidence aside, I am just saying I'd like to see some actual numbers. The new GT ought to be faster but I won't be surprised if it isn't...

meh i bet 5.0 is faster than 370Z around the road course.

The 370Z could be 4-5 seconds faster on a road course than a 5.0 and I still wouldn't want a 370Z anymore than I currently do. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a 370Z, my friend has one and its a great car. Still, I'd take a 5.0 over one no matter which car was faster around a road course. Either car could easily double as a daily driver, and the 5.0 has a few things the 370Z doesn't.
As close to universally good looks as it gets (370Z suffers from GT-R-itis IMO, and sales numbers speak for themselves), a back seat which makes it even more suitable for DD duty, and a deep V8 rumble - hell I actually like the Modular V8 sound more than the LSx sound. In some of these reviews so far they've complained about the sound of the 370Z's exhaust note near redline. I've yet to hear ANYONE who had any sort of inclination of being a car enthusiast who didn't like the sound of Ford's Modular V8. Even my friend who has an Evo X and is not a domestic fan at all admits that the 03-04 SVT Cobras are probably the best sounding cars in their price range.

Fahrvergnügen'd
Since I can't afford a S5, if I were getting a new sports car it would be between the 135i, 370Z, and Mustang GT.
Can't believe I'm even saying that. And unless the other two just blew me away, I'm leaning heavily towards the Mustang because of MyFord.

Mustang GT is nice, but good luck finding it for 30k. it's a 40k when it's equipped like gen coupe v6 track.
and mustang v6 goes over 30k when it is fully loaded. i wish they test cars with same options.
