Understood.

Performance > Looks for me! haha

I actually would not mind having a set of springs that doesn't lower the car but stiffen up the handling. Was waiting for Swift to come out with such a set like that because they do have those type of springs, but they ended up making it 1 inch lowering.

I guess from a business standpoint, they had to do that in order to appeal to the mass. Still those Swift springs + Koni shocks will be my set up for me from next year!

I would save for coilovers...the benefits are endless.

Most companies offer several different spring rates, adjustable dampening so you can tweak how comfortable you want the ride, make the ride height EXACTLY how high/low you want it, etc...

He's looking to get the "look", not performance. So, in this case, I would have to disagree on getting the coilover kit. It's a bit of overkill.

H-tech is the more comfortable one, isn't it? Get that.

Ground Control Coilovers and/or Tein Basics or similar...

Since you don't care about performance, you don't need dampening, etc. The basics are usually around $750-900 and Ground Controls are usually in the $200-400 range. The Ground Controls will surely beat up your stock shocks though....

The GCs will kill his shocks for sure. It's a regular 6. Just get the most comfortable set of springs that don't lower too much.

Lol @ 02cls trying to get him to get coilovers. If he just wants the looks why spend all that extra cash on coilovers? Kevin, just get the S-Techs and call it a day. I know there's tons of poeple running them on stock shocks and are fine. I think if you get the H-Techs you'll regret not going lower. That's how it was when I got the Pro-Kits for my Accord. Not long after I got the Sportlines because the Pro-Kits weren't low enough and I regretted not just going lower in the first place. Teins tend to be soft springs anyway so even with the S-Techs it will probably ride close to stock.

Yea Todd, I had the pro-kit on the TL had to get rid of them because I wanted to go lower and my buddy Matt (OTSB708) has pro kit on his 7.5 gen and he went with sportlines because he wanted to go lower.

I think i'll more than likely just go with the S techs.

What about Eibach Sportlines?

I had, as well as most of the MX5 crew over on another forum, have had shit luck with Tein springs with uneven ride and wacko spring rates.

Check out Mr. Goodwin's site....Awesome resourse for everything Mazda.

Are you planning to get a RSB at some point?

You should, I'm sure your car will feel so much different with just an upgraded RSB.

^ This. RSB makes a huge difference in handling for very little $$$.

I loved my Sportlines on the Accord. I wasn't 100% with the Teins I had on my CL-S, so I'd agree with 02cls, check out the Sportlines and see what the 6 guys say about them. Might be your best bet.

Thats wierd....I wonder what the differences are between the mounting points of the 4cyl vs. 6cy.

On a side note, I test drove a 6 in my long list of cars to drive before I bought the MX5 and liked it a lot.

Im anxious to see what gets done to it!

It's all good.

Yeah, from the thread that I've found, Mazda is currently busy getting the shit for the next MX-5 and the next RX-8 as well as those Sky Activ engines. So I think the next MS6 won't get here anytime soon.

if I found a MS6 for a resaonable price in my area and I was approved for another car loan I would get one...

I was looking at the Audi A4, but might have to get an SUV in the next year or so guess I'll be getting rid of the toyota or the Mazda which ever gives me more problems

So after our division picnic at work I escaped a little early and headed over to Mazda in Elk Grove, Tech drove the car with me in the passenger seat he was a cool dude. He felt the problem the tech forman went home for the day so they said bring it back Monday and they will take it in a get the problem fixed.

Said it could be a solenoid and they might just replace the tranny. They have a car in there right now for the past 2 weeks waiting on a tranny. I asked "are there loaners?" Nope how about rentals yea they cost 30 or so a day

really wish Mazda would give me a rental or something, mite call corp just to ask about that.
