Did any of you read the comments? I know most youtube comments are stupid but the NSX driver answers most of the questions people ask him, like "why don't you shift before redline" etc.

 

Let the speed of the car catch up to the tires before shifting or you bog or REALLY spin the next gear. My car being an auto would play the "hunting" game between second and third 3-4 times if I didn't shift it manually. Time for some tire. I usually don't like the sound of 6 bangers, especially the import variety but that was nice.

 

U=dumb...do you think love fab is gonna have a set up where if you hit the rev limiter its gonna blow up? not so much...this isnt a 92 eg with a cheap ls/vtec with stock head studs...the kit is $16k...go watch some D1 videos and get your punch counter out cuz they bounce off the rev limiter more than they are revving...low compression= alotta rev limiter hits and detonation can be taken..

 

I'm sure a few times won't hurt but it's not exactly good for it. As long as it cuts each cylinder every other power stroke it's not as harsh. Not always the best for a turbo car though. To totally contradict myself, I've drivien my car (the GN) in 1st gear on the revlimiter for about 10 seconds (seems like an eternity) to prove to a fellow owner it won't kill the engine. Now that I'm revving 1,100rpm past stock revlimiter I don't push my luck. That NSX looked like it was revving way past the stock limiter. Don't know where I'm going with this one....

 

I sure wouldn't ever treat my car like that......I don't care how well its been "built"....

I don't care if it has a Yugo engine in it; anytime you blatantly abuse the engine like that is not good. If it's to keep the revs up on the next shift every now and then, fine, but if you're gonna do that EVERY single shift? You talk like the engine's gonna last forever just because it costs $16k. The D1 drivers have to do extensive maintenance on their cars after most of their exhibitions to hold those kinds of revs no?
