there are many many people that dislike the raspy sound of that engine.

i know - its mostly about camera angles and blur - zoom in/out smoothly - highly varied camera angles... change focus smoothly in and out of scenes and subjects.. sheit like that. but also, they do a lot of post processing on the video to make it look so rich like that. yeah we get Motorweek with that one dude who still wears those Members Only jackets..

Its arguable but I do feel it has a (subdued) resemblance to the 355 at the higher revs.

Nice vid of a de-catted and Capristo-exhaust fitted 355. and, thanks for pointing out exactly when the sound occurs in that 15 sec vid.

Find a video of a 100% stock 355 - put some earplugs in and watch it - its a similar sound to the M3. If you disagree, that's fine.

Ive spent time in a stock exhaust 355, and been to a few club event days at Road America and it doesnt sound like that M3 at all. The noise the Intake and exhaust make are pure sex to the ears. From that video it doesnt sound like one. Sorry thats just my opinion

I never priced either out, I pulled a figure out of thin air that sounded possible, if you say its double my estimate all the more reason to skip it. Most will never be able to drive the car properly to utilize the added performance

The 2006 M3 coupe loaded would be about $10-15k more than a loaded 335i coupe. Since the new M3 is probably going to be more, I think you at least didn't overbid

Saw an E90 M3 today. Damn it looks good.

I personally think that's going to look better than the coupe, I've said it before...the new M3s styling bits I think will work better on the sedan.

I think you're right. I really don't like the pictures of the M3 coupe, but the same styling on the sedan looked great. I haven't seen one of the coupes or convertables yet in person to compare it to but right now my favorite is the sedan.
