All The Secrets Of The Sultan Of Brunei's Modified Ferrari F40s
All The Secrets Of The Sultan Of Brunei's Modified Ferrari F40s
Ferrari offered buyers a choice of three seats with the F40. Depending on the size of your ass, you could go with slim, medium or wide fit buckets. His Majesty Hassanal Bolkiah is not a large man by any standard, but thought was apparently that the F40's racing seats are too uncomfortable. Not that he was ever going to drive his cars.
His solution was simple, yet rather disrespectful nod to the engineering department. He wanted the F40s with the Testarossa's interior. Ferrari looked the other way, and Pininfarina set to work.

Owning a garage in a big city can be tough.
Nevertheless, it's all about where you live. Interesting read.

It did shed some compelling light into what it's like to own one.

FWIW, a friend's racing/business partner (they co-own and race '65 and '66 Shelby Mustangs) built a large car storage facility on his property in North VA. Holds ~20 cars, insured and bonded, climate controlled. He had no problem filling with exotic cars, totally rented for couple years. Most customers are from DC, Georgetown, and other rich area's. And like that article said, most owners don't like driving their cars in the city so most like driving the country roads nearby. The building will be amortized in a decade and got a decent loan so he only supplied the property, when paid off will bring ~$50K/yr and requires extremely little work. Far easier than his wife's horse boarding business.
I know couple 328GTS owners. Decent model to own, one had a Diablo and enjoyed the 328 more.
