okay me and my boys were debateing. in the 60 grand about 400 hp v-8 rear wheel drive class.
what would you roll in
new Jag XF with the Supercharged Engine it's around 60 grand
or
a dressed out Lexus IS-F

 

I wouldn't waste my time with either and just get a M3 or RS4.

okay I'll admit the M3, and C63 faster and probably better handling than IS-F and Jag XF Super. however the reason in my debate I picked the IS-F. Lexus is known for quality. with this new "F line" much like the AMG, M line and RS line of Audi, it brings(long overdue) sports and excitement to a high quality machine.
I'm not busting on BMW or Benz. I'd gladly take either in my garage but you look at quality reports and they don't lie guys. Lexus is always in the top 5 year after year.

But in Jag defense: the new XF is "hot." plus Tata motors take over i think they(Jaguar) will be headed in the right direction (FINALLY). i think the Indians will strighten up Jag not only quality but also some of the older designs.

 

 

out of those 2 cars i say the jag, but there are far better competitors out there for the money.

that new jag has some really neat new features.

 

The main reason as for why Lexus came out with the "F-line" is that it is one of their many marketing tools in order to attract a big chunk of younger generation car buyer segment. Lexus already did a great job of coming out with a high quality four door sport sedan, the IS 250/350. Simply having IS-Fs in their dealerships will obviously bring more younger buyers to the dealership, and that is exactly what Lexus is looking for.

I still think IS-F is overrated and overpriced though since I've seen them in person at the dealership.


Whatever, I'd get M3 any day over IS-F or Jag. I can't believe you even mentioned Jag XF.

 

I really like the XF as far as styling. the rear end looks like an Aston Martin. the front something fresh for Jag. now about quality. I think like i said the Indian owners(Tata motors) will clean up their reputation/name. it's not Jag horrible(like Land Rover ) but there's room to go up. do i think they'll be a Lexus by next year or even in 2 years in one word:no. but I'm really excited about Tata motors taking over Jag.
Ford IMHO didn't give a crap about Jag and sank very little money into R and D and engineering for Jag. but now Tata (has crazy money) they'll get them(Jag) back on track.
now i wouldn't buy a Jag first 2-3 years Tata has them. give them 4-5 years then shit will be stright and you'll start seeing results.
maybe I'm just hopeing on a star. discuss please.

The Jag XF is a luxury car, more luxury than sport. Probably just about the nicest mid size luxury car in its class at the moment. It compares with the 5 series, E class, Lexus GS.

The IS-F compares with the M3, C63, and RS4.

So the comparison is really apples vs. oranges.

2 different cars, 2 different missions.

That aside, the IS-F is basically selling like shit and the XF is a run away success.

lexus is-f...i like the looks of the xf but if im spendin that kind of money, im getn somethin that i know i'll be able to sell knowing full well that i got my complete moneys worth out of it. the older jags are just pieces of junk. they have always been over hyped. ive always compared jaguar to that typical college tramp. what the hell is luxury and beauty if it doesnt last. along with land rover. there are also many benz models old and new that i wouldnt ever break a check book for even if i had well enough money. jag has vd in my book...

 

IS-F.. the Jag may look nice but lacks a lot of driving technology. IIRC the drivetrain/suspension are carryover parts from their previous models.

 

Man, I'd be afraid of the Jag but it sure is a looker....

The XF has thus far won two comparisons which have included the 550i, E550, GS460, and A6 4.2. Well the Edmunds test included the A6.

I would say Jaguar got the XF right.

And to add, while I do like the IS-F it has yet to win any comparison (at least that I've seen) against the M3 or C63.

I'd actually second guess myself with those 3 after seeing the C 63 AMG. That things an animal. Just saw the episode of Top Gear where they compared the C 63 AMG, M3, and Audi RS 4. They featured the XF at the beginning of the episode too. Pretty sweet rides.

XF super please... Ive sat inside an IS-F, nothing special.. some carbon fiber trim here and there, and leather seats are cool.


The XF screams luxury everywhere and is fast as shit with the supercharger.

but like someone mentioned, two different classes - xf is midsize sedan competing with 5 series, E class, GS, etc.

 

i'd go with the rs4 too

 

i don't know the RS4 does very little for me as far as styling.

Now after thinking about it(between XF-Super vs IS-F) if it was my money and my ride. like i hinted earlier i'd wait 3-4 years, let Tata motors get settled in with Jag and then go buy a XF-Super.

 

IMHO:best design job in mid size lux sedan(examples:E-class benz, RL,5 series BMW)
Jag was letting me down pre-XF days. the X -Type sucked, the S-type sucked but not as bad as the X-Type. but i feel Tata motors came in and said we gotta go "all in" with the XF. and they hit a homerun in my opinion.

 

what about a ford f-350 with a 12 inch lift with super big tires and lights all around and the 18 wheeler exhaust?
