This is on Azine, but I bet if every time someone got offended when someone on another forum called their car ugly, there wouldn't be much time to talk about anything else on here. It's just a matter of taste.

True. Off Topic is a completely different beast than the car-specific forums. You just never know what you are going to get.

Hell, it's like a rite of passage or something.

I know every once in awhile, I'll post something absurd that gets me flamed - and rightfully so. After all, the masses can't be wrong.

I frequent all types of discussion boards, but I think you'll find the most knowledgeable car buffs here at Azine which is why I keep coming back.

No. Because for the same price i could get ALOT more... i could get something better looking, more power, better handling, more features.

just because i dont understand why anyone would buy a 325 over a G35c.

sure i know bmw engineering and this and that.. ultimate driving Machine... So? how many ppl actually take their BMW to the track? majority of them just use them to go from point A - B.

i m thinking about getting a 335... not because it is a BMW.... but because for 45k, it offering performance that is hard to beat with alot of potentials.

Well after drivng both, i would have to pick the 328 over the new G35 sedan. G35 just didnt handle as well and the steering wasnt as tight. Plus the brakes felt MUCH better on the 328.

But you do get a lot for your money in the G35 if you like technology. But for driving experience i would take the 328.

it doesnt matter if you put an IS350 or a G35C or a s2000 next to a 3 series.. some ppl would always say their 325 looks better than anything.

While the Acura obviously offers more for the money, the overall package of the BMW is unbeatable. Some people do get it because of the badge, but when you look at it that way, why do you even need an Acura with HIDs and heated seats when a civic will get you from point A to point B. Some people prefer the options, others want the name. Who are you to say what's more important to someone?

how many people actually take their S2Ks to the track? how many people take their RSX to the track? how many people take their M6 to the track? not many, the number of people that buy a daily driver so that they can take it to the track on the weekends is miniscule compared to people that buy a daily driver so that...wait...i think i've got it...yep...so that they can drive it daily. shocker, eh?

no, the point was to throw a bitch-fit because there are people outside of the AcuraZine internet realm that think the 2nd gen TL is ugly. people need to get a clue and realize that not everyone thinks the 2nd gen TL is the hottest thing on 4 wheels.

I do not agree with you but however i dont blame you for choosing 328 if that s the reason. (i said G35C earlier not sedan)
if your buying 328 simply because you enjoy driving, track or autox, then yah buying an underpowered 328 fits you.

but you have to understand Majority of the ppl who buy 328/325 are not like that....

As far as I can tell, the Acuras are modded. I'm sure there are E46 328is out there that look better to some than the TL A-Spec, but as someone else said, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

You do understand that the "underpowered" E90 328 is about as fast as a TL, right? Add RWD to the equation and you get a much sportier ride than the TL.

I don't know how else to explain the point of this thread. First of all, even I don't think the 2G TL is the hottest thing on 4 wheels. What I'm pointing out is the supremacist tone by many BMW owners. But you just can't seem to grasp this simple point, so I'll stop trying to explain it. If you have nothing intelligent to add to this thread, GTFO.

Exactly personal preferences... "i said i DONT understand". living here in so cal, most of my friends drive bmws and benz..

please dont compare s2000 with 325/328...i am talking about badge snobs here... s2000 is still a honda, and i dont think ppl who buy s2000 are trying to impress anyone. It is not luxurous, not fast, no brand recognition.
However, only ppl on the forums knows why s2000 is so famous.

the bottom line is Do you agree Majority of the ppl who buy 325/328 is because of the BMW badge? the keyword is Majority.

The BMW is an abosolutely gorgeous piece of machinery (problems and lack of reliability aside)

The acuras are nice too, but do not have what the bmw has in terms of looks and prestige (they do have the reliability going for them)

BMW is definitely a step up from the Acura, but I don't think it's a step up when you go from a TSX to a base model bmw.....in that case you are trying to buy the nameplate with none of the options and features that the nameplate is known for....a second reason might have to do with the fact that the base model bmw give you nothing.

A real step up would be to Lexus.

BTW I own a tsx and love it. I love BMW styling, but refuse to put up with reliability concerns. My next car would definitely be a Lexus!

You don't buy a TL for the "Ultimate Driving Experience" . You buy the BMW for that but with the TL you get more car for your money. Personally at first I didnt like the E90/E92 but after seeing the coupe I'm liking it more but still wouldnt buy one. For the price of a 335i, I'd rather buy a E46 M3 but I do hear that the 335i is underrated power wise. I'm not gonna act like I know anything about BMW but most people who do buy it , do it for status not for what the slogan says.

The slammed cadillac comment was quite amusing...Throw some D's on that bitch

many BMW drivers? when you originally posted the link, 6 people commented on how ugly the TLs were. is 6 many to you? you can't seem to grasp the simple point that some people think the TL is ugly. this is the internet, there's nothing wrong with people speaking their opinions.

now none of the E90 guys come onto Acurazine and bash acuras but i'll be willing to bet that E90's newest member (AMGala) wants to start something with them. good luck, bud. we'll see how long you last.

You drive what you like, not what others tell you to drive. I know some BMWs can be a nightmare, but that aside, it brings a smile to my face whenever I drive it. It has nothing to do what I drive, but just the feel of the car and the precise steering. A step up would really be a Porsche. The Lexus is also a great car, but just doesn't have the great road feel. Of course it makes up for it in other departments.

LOL, that comment I made on e90post was because I'm pretty sure that Crazy Quattro is Crazy Sellout on AZine, which means he used to drive an Acura. Also, six people isn't that many, but my friend has told me in the past that on e90post when other forum members post pics of cars other than BMWs, they get flamed. So mine case isn't the first, nor will it be the last. Don't get ahead of yourself, you'll never catch up. I'm not gonna start anything on e90post, it's pretty pointless to fight over the internet. But you seem to want to keep it up, so have fun!

Why cant you like both cars. I think there both nice looking cars and even though I have a TL myself I will admit that the bmw is better looking (then again im not sure I would say the same about a 3G I think that would be a tie in my opinion.) Everyone seems to be making a war between the BMW and acura but I mean who cares? Some poeple like acura and some people like bmw thats just how it is. I dont mean to sound all lovey dovey but do we really need to agure this?

Come on guys.. what other ppl think is not important.. what is important is what you think. When I post my M roadster here a while back, many ppl said it is ugly and criticized Bangle style. Does it matter to me? NO, to me my M roadster is still the best looking roadster =) and most fun to drive car. People are different, otherwise we are all robots.

I hate to say it but I have to agree with them that 2nd Gen TL is UGLY!!! TL and CLs are boats. their turning radius is size of a football field.... They are good daily drivers, but not fun cars to drive at all.

I disagree on the looks and the fun factor.

my CL-S was gorgeous and a blast to drive. and I certainly wouldn't call the 2G TL ugly.

What did you drive before your M roadster? I'd think that for most of people for whom the TL is the best car they've ever driven/owned, it is very fun to drive. Until maybe they drive something like an M Roadster and then then they see how much better performing the new car is than their TL. So it's all relative. I personally love the look of the 2G TL, but I wish that it had 4WD and at least 75 more hp (I have a TL-P). But the point of this thread was never to make it into a typical BMW vs. Acura thread.
