Evo X?
http://urbanracer.com/articles/anmvi...sp?a=1654&z=27
For years we lusted for it. We scanned the pages of Option for the sparse English text, we cursed every time we watched footage of Tommi Makinen slide threw the gravel turns of a WRC race across the ocean. And then finally, the rally gods answered our prayers and sent the real deal Lancer Evolution to the U.S. for the first time ever just two years ago. And Mitsubishi hasn’t stopped flowing the love since. After releasing special editions like the hi-po MR and then updating the Lancer franchise with the Evo IV earlier this year, Mitsubishi is ready to continue the Evo legend with the debut of the Evo X at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show – at least the concept teaser.
Shod with big 20” wheels and a flared out stance, the Mitsubishi Concept-X is billed as a “concept with styling that raises the bar on performance looks”. Translation: the Concept-X is your not-so-secret peek at what to expect from the tenth version of Mitsubishi’s WRC all-star. While the styling shows influence from current and previous generation Lancer Evos, the Concept-X also features a new, aggressively chiseled look that Mitsubishi describes as a “new-age Evolution design”. According to Mitsubishi, the front end design draws inspiration from a jet fighter and features a large grille to hint at its high-performance potential. Whether you believe that or not, you can expect some of the design cues to also show up on other future Mitsu products.
Under hood, the familiarity for Evo fans continues – an updated turbocharged 2.0 MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control) four-cylinder occupies the space between the front fenders; but it’s mated to a novel high-performance clutch less 6-speed transmission that features steering column mounted electronic paddle shifting – an Evo first. Another unique tech feature hinted at in the Concept-X is the S-AWC vehicle dynamics controls system – Mitsubishis version of an integrated stability control system. Based on Mitsubishi’s full-time 4WD system that is built around ACD and Super AYC component technologies, S-AWC adds Active Brake Control, Active Steering System and Roll Control Suspension technologies for a fully integrated system. Other notable features of the Concept-X include aluminum hood, trunk, fenders, and door construction and a stiffer body structure. Mitsubishi lists the suspension setup as Macpherson front strut and multilink rear designs. An interesting interior feature that will probably not make it to a production Evo is rear passenger LCD display panels mounted on front seat backs. The driver and front passenger also get their own hi-def screen in the dashboard for nav, DVD audio, and vehicle systems information. The Concept-X will be joining fourteen other Mitsubishis on the Tokyo big stage, but will obviously be the main star for anybody with a pulse.

That was uncalled for...
Well if the production model doesnt look anything like the concept model, which looks good, why cant we get upset if the car no longer looks good?

I dont like this clutchless technology, I feel like it is just like a sport shift? Am I wrong? I want to feel the clutch, etc. I know F1's, etc do not use clutches but I feel like you need a clutch on a vehicle like the all wheel drive monster.
