My boy lives on Cooper street, I bet he even know the owner of the car. In his neighborhood since its the better half of Hempstead cops give tickets to all cars that seem to not fit in. Cops would purposely pull you over to give you a hard time and make sure you never drive through that neighborhood again.
Its fawked up cause now he has to go to court and fight this even if he wins its not like the cop will get in trouble. The cop will present his case and if the judge goes against him he'll laugh it off because the judge know in NY they're guys with the F and F wings all the time except this one came like that stock

They can give you a ticket for something that comes stock on the car if it violates some law.
Take the 03 CL, they got rid of the driving lights because they violated the law in I think 2 states, so they got rid of them all together.
Just most cops aren't a$$holes enough to give you tickets for something that stupid.

The cop was in a really bad mood
or the kid pissed him off with something he said and he just decided to give a ticket for everything wrong with the car.
They can give you a ticket for something that comes stock on the car if it violates some law.

I was under the impression that the obstructed rear view only applied if you didn't have 2 side view mirrors. Remember back in the last 70's and early 80's when the car manufactures made the passenger side rear view mirror an option. Both California and Colorado require 2 rear view mirrors ... most cars have 3 but trucks (commercial) usually only have 2 (the minimum). That's why, if you don't have a rear view mirror in your car, you need to have both side view mirrors to be legal. Anyway, I hope the guy fights the ticket and that Mitsubishi helps him with it.

yah I was with a friend of mine in his 02 WRX when a cop pulled him over and was giving him shit about the STOCK hood scoop being an obstruction, and for those of you who have been in an 02 WRX, in the middle up above the rear view mirror there is a little flip down sunshade .. he tried saying that was an obstruction of view also. both STOCK items. its a load of crap.

Well they didnt really redesign .. just swapped out roadlamps for some plastic inserts. probably cost them like 100$ to design the plastic things 
But I love those plastic things, cause I can easily remove the drivers side one in like 10 seconds .. and sitting right behind it is my Icebox air horn. Perfect for the track.
