ERG valve replacement
Check engine light came on....diagnostic said it was the ERG valve...any instructions out there for how to dismantle it to replace it (1997 Acura 3.0CL - V6)?

Often when a CEL comes on with an EGR related code its something other then the EGR valve. Have the code cleared and see if the light comes back on, and see if its the same code. Or you can replace the EGR valve and cross your fingers and hope that was the problem. I have never seen a honda/acura EGR valve fail before. It should be some place on the intake manifold, and shouldn't be hard to replace should you need to.
Good luck

On the 2nd gens the valve usually doesnt go bad, its the ports after it that clog up causing CELs Dont know if its similar though

you technically dont need to replace it... its usually just a good cleaning you need to do. Had it come up for my first gen TL... replaced the EGR valve with one i found at a junkyard, then the CEL light came up again in 4 months with EGR... took the sucker apart and cleaned it. Takes a LONG time to clean and its a bitch, but i think its worth saving the couple hundred..
