^^ ah, I see it now. the bottom of the shifter is connected to a rod that is connected to the tranny I guess. At first it looked like the shifter went all the way to the console.

Why are you guys riding around without plates?

The lotus's were new I think. I just haven't put mine on yet, saves me about $7 a day on the toll road
+ I'm waiting for my personalized plates. But I'm not sure if i'll put those on right away either

Hehe...
Hehe...
crazy huh? They were even impressed w/ my car and my driving (the lotus guys flipped out that I was hanging w/ them up the mountain, they all tripped out when we got to the top.
It was fun just having the GT3, M3 and elise w/ me down the mountain. The M3 definately couldn't keep up. When i was 2nd in line behind the elise I was on his ass the whole time w/ the gt3 a little behind (not sure how hard luis was pushing then). after that I was 3rd and right w/ the elise and GT3, and the M3 lost ground fast.
At one point I was ahead of them all and they made a turn behind me, I somehow managed to turn around, lose about 5 minutes and still catch up

I'm still confused about the plate thing though. Doesn't CHP pull you over if you don't have plates?

Nah, they just assume it's a new car.
We don't have temporary plates out here, we just put our registration fromt he dealership in the front passenger corner of our windshield.
