drove the shit out of a 04 TL

went to the ac dealer tonite for the tl invitation, it was pretty nice w/ all the food n drinks but fuck the bullshit i was their to drive the car, few of the service guys there just hand me keys to a black one , first thing i do after i start it is turn vsa off:P , oh man i love the new interior, i did a few 0-80 runs, felt pretty quick, around the same speed as my car when it was stock, i couldnt get the tires to break lose from a stop though , one thing i hate is that there no gate shifting

i talked to the salesman afterward and he said he doesnt think there gonna be a type S, he added that the new nsx was gonna weigh 2100 lbs

there was a few tl's there w/ rim up grades, they were 5 split spokes in gun metal wrapped in yoko es100's

there my shitty review

Food? The one in Tukwila had no food. Drove up, stood by the 04 cars while 4 Salesmen in tuxedo clowned around and ignored me. Wish I would have been really serious about buying a car and bought from a salesman other than those idiots...

Did your invite include a number for a free Acura???

i went to the same deal tonite in phoenix, and got to drive the 04. had the salesman with me, so we went to the 101 off of 19th ave for you az folks and i did a 10-95mph run which felt pretty nice. car felt pretty sporty to me, but i do drive a 99 w/out any suspension mods yet. overall tho, the interior is a lot nicer now and the stock tires arent so bad compared to the TL's before it.

Went to Scottsdale Acura and they had the event with food and a live band. Pretty nice setup and nice facility. We didn't get a chance to drive the car though although they did drive you around on their track (small track). They had quite a few cars setup there...one to do an audio presentation, one for technical Q and A, one for interior, one for exterior, and one to show all the neat technology. Pretty nice...but wish they let us drive it around the track. Food was decent too.

New TL is pretty nice...they did mention that they will be getting 6-speeds in around the first week or two in November as well as an A-Spec model that's coming out with suspension and different steering wheel, etc. New RL should be nice but no real word on the engine. One of the guys there mentioned it could be some sort of hybrid V6 and possibly AWD. New NSX should be redone as well....these new cars will be '05 models.

The one in ATL had whore'durves (i can spell, i just put it the way ludacris does)...sushi, beer, wine, etc...

anyone else notice that the engine is a J32A3??? After guessing that the only thing they added was an intake, I asked the salesman, and sure enough, he was happy to say that they included a cold air intake...no chance for a new engine any time soon...

Which ATL dealership? Hope it wasn't Ed Voyles as I was there yesterday morning... I'd hate to have just missed it.

No gate shifting . . . no go!

If that's the case, I'm definately not in the market for one. I hate SS mode.

Nice review darrin. I see what you mean about no gate shifting. If ya go on Acura.com and look in the TL interior pics you can see there's no more 1-5 on the gate anymore.

I went to test drive one here in the Chicago suburbs at Arlington Acura, nice people and nice car but they won't take a penny off sticker and I won't pay full price.
That being said, they had two 6 speed 03' CL's and were willin' to really deal on them but after a day of coming to my senses, I realized it was better to stick with my modded 01' auto.
If I buy a new car, I want a newer high horsepower model.

It's a hell of a lot better than former years. Finally Acura has come to there senses and actually got competitive with the body. Kinda reminds me of a 5 series bemer. Oh well, at least it's a change.

Umm... the old NSX with aluminum body panels and aluminum suspension weighed 2900lbs or more I believe... does this one come without the engine?

Better to go witha a 6-speed and ditch the crappy Auto.

I missed the event on 10/23!... I know it would have been great!. I did attend the launch party of the MDX!.. It was great too!.

I stil can test drive the TL. I will wait and test the 6-speed with summer tires.

Nashua.
