Lightbulb Drove My First American Car....

OKAY..... i have been sitting in some american cars...but never driven one...
so.. yesterday my friend asked me if i wanted come and drive some the american cars... that are in his car showroom....i said fine ...ok.... i'll be there....

so...there was chrysler 300m ,cadillac devil from 60s or 70s and cadillac eldorado and sevil.... and of course a surprise a new dodge magnum hemi vers....

so we start with the cadillacs....ofcourse we cannot drive american cars ....because they are all AUTOMATIC.......now....(i own a audi s8 which i bought last month its automatic has been standing in my garage for a month )
so now we have are having a diff learning how to drive auto.... specially how to use brake cos there is not clutch.-..... so no engine brake ....just regular braking...,,

and when u stop the cadillacs the car is bumping up and down....sort of like boat stopping on a sea.....
there whas tons of leather ...everywhere....seats where like big soffas, soffas bigger than what i have in my house.....
and what can i say.... it was drinking petrol like it was drinking water..... we had burned 400kr (50$) of petrol in 30 min and petrol in sweden is 1.3$ per liter...expensive.....

now the chrysler 300m ....same automatic...black coloured car, black leather and some wood imitation.....like my honda accord (tsx).....samething drinking petrol.....lots of it....

now the hemi dodge magnum....a station wagon.....it also had automatic gearbox big seats ....shit the backspace is bigger than my audi s8....and it had 5.7l engine which just made.....340hp and it was equipped with 18 inch friction tyres instead of studded tyres..... and it was suicidal to drive that car in snow even with traction control on.... but it had probably the best speaker system and it could play mp3s....it had great navigation system....and it is cheap very cheap....compared to bmws and mercs .....i liked it ....it was very very quite...it was a nice car....overall i think value for money.....

but the automatic gears is something which i am not used still now... so...i cannot say if it is bad or good.....but the fuel consumption on these cars is something to worry about.....and swedish tax system means no matter how cheap cars are to buy i will not be able to afford these in near future....

so that was my experience of driving the amricans for the first time......very very interesting ones....now i will tell all my freinds to try and drive one just for the laughs......

Don't worry, they've designed bigger ships to hold more oil.

With Ford owning Volvo and GM owning Saab, it's just a matter of time before Trollhattan resembles Manhattan.

For those who took my statement ^^ seriously, please insert [JOKE] [/JOKE].

I was taken back by that one:

I cant imagine an AT being anywhere near as complex as driving an MT; just pick any 'D' and forget the shifting until you're ready to park.

yeah well

i had never driven an auto before. the brake pedal is very big as there is no clutch pedal so it takes time to get use to it. i think people in north america prefer auto to mt
over here MT is preffered.

You could fit all Swedes into the Chicago metro area if you wanted to. Not a lot of people. Why learn Svedish?

Oh yeah, the Audi S8 is a gas-sipper.

Is it really all that difficult for someone used to manuals to drive an automatic?!

^^audi s8 is not very fuel economic but taxes on it are lower than the american cars dont know why.

also it is difficult to get used to auto for one who has been driving mt all the time

Sweden is part of the EU, even if they don't use the euro.
Are Swedish tariffs on American consumer products high?
I wasn't aware the US had any tariffs on Swedish products, but then again, a few million people is like a drop in the bucket. You guys export what? Soap and maybe some Volvos?

yeah guess so the taxes must be high on american products specially if they are direct import from usa.

Swedish economy is totally dependent on exports specially engineering goods....and ofcourse the volvos and saabs are more or less american companies now.
