Drove a G35 Sedan Premium package today.

Black on Black, auto.

Outside styling, very nice. It needs bigger wheels to make up the look a bit better, but overall, it looks very clean on the outside.

Interior: Well, seats are comfy, it was very tight inside though especially for the driver. Not much leg side room or hip room. Rear room was very good. I like how the rear seats can be adjusted so you can lay back some. Very cool idea. Dash plastic, very cheap. Feels like the Altima. Console is all hard plastic, looks cheap, already see scratches on it. Stereo sounds very nice, nice boomy, not much treble from the front, most of the sound is heard from the back even when I adjusted it. In stereos you want most of the sound from the front mainly except the bass, for good sound.

Performance:

0-60, very quick, 1/4 I would say it slowed down after I hit 2nd-3rd somewhere. It didn't feel as qucik as my CL-S does with headers, without, would be close.

Handling, defintely the G35. It handles like a dream. RWD is awesome. I forgot how much fun it was to powerslide the car in a turn!

34k asking price of the dealer. I will pass. I think it was a good car for the money, but Infiniti, (Nissan) needs to work a bit on the interior pieces to make it a bit more refined. The I35 was much better and the M45 I sat in. It just seems they lacked the quality in the G compared to the other 2. No coupes to check out, they are sold once they get on the lot.

Anyways, here is my review. Remember its my opinion.

Good Review..but I do have one question about this Hard plastic. I went to the dealership and sat in two coupes. I felt all around the car to find these hard plastics. The only area that seemed sub-par was that fake aluminum trim that runs down the Center console, and the door handles. Other than that the plastics felt no different than any other plastic I come in contact with on a daily basis. Another thing if plastic is soft wouldn't it wear a lot quicker than hard plastics. If anyone can provide me of an example of a 'Soft' plastic found in automobiles that I can get access to?

Around the shifter. Most likely the dash kit covered it up where you didn't see it. It looks very cheap around that area. I can see scratches already in it.

the trim around the shifter is the same trim that goes up the dash and surrounds the radio/climate controls. i will admit that im not to found of it, after being used to wood and leather. but i havent seen any scratches on mine. now the bottom of the door panels, i have major gripes with. i really dont see why everyone says that the interior sucks. its not the best in the world, but it far from blows.........

IMHO, my Maximas interior was better. My CLs is, our LEXUS has much better interior. I guess I am spoiled.

The Coupe is by far a more performance oriented machine. Its like comparing the TL to the CL-S. Still at the same price as a CL-S you can get a Coupe. The plastic interior is cheap but there are plenty of wood packages available for under 100$ that make it look a lot better. My dad put it on his Coupe and it looks phat.

Acura has Infinity outclassed.....reputation wise as well as quality. I will give performane to Infinity only b/c it is rwd but at the drags I would like to race one before I make my judgement. I hope the after market is going to be good on that car particularly since the 3.5 seems to be maxed out on the 350Z which is just so-so. Can that 3.5 be tuned to squeeze out more hp and tq ????

The 3.5 VQ engine puts out 280 horse, leading its class and price range. The variable valve timing has been perfected and a freer flowing exhaust adds 20 horses from the sedan. It prolly could squeeze out more HP and TQ but the amount is sufficient....good enough to beat a CL-S in a foot race. Im sure people will add aftermarket products which there are few of now for the new car, but it suits well for a turbo kit. Then who knows..?

Nissian/INFINITI, is setting up a in house performance brand for their cars... They will have a "R" badge to distinguish them from the regular model. 350ZR, Q45R and AWD versions of the Q45 and G35 are scheduled as well with a "X" badge ex. Q45X!

yeah perry, from what i hear, the R spec should be out in late march. suspension, aero, and superchargers, etc. lets hope that it gets a better response and support the L-Tuned did from Lexus.

darrin, if cost were no object, i would absolutelutely agree with you. i have been drooling over those cars since i saw them out in force in miami labor day weekend. however with a cost b/w 85 and 115K, you cant really give it the car of the year award. of course, if you can afford it, it doesnt really matter what award it gets. it is it's own reward .........
