Down to 4 choices....

Ok, new car is definately coming by the end of Feb-early March.

Here are the choices:

Nissan 350ZR
Infiniti G35C
Acura TL
BMW Z4

What would you choose? Each has it's good and bad points. But I am going to buy one of these. Tell me what you would buy and why. Then at the end of the month (or a few weeks) I'll tell you (or better yet show you)what my decision is/was.

And thanks in advance for the input.

That's on odd list, you have one roadster, one sedan and two coupes(which are essentially the same, aside from the wheel base). The Z4 I wouldn't seriously consider, for similar money there are better(more fun) roadsters available. The TL would make a great daily driver- if you don't mind a fwd sedan. Or you have the two nissan's, so do you want a backseat or not? After you answer that question I think you know which car you want.

Yeah, that's a pretty odd list. If I were you, I'd try to narrow it down to a list that more accurately reflects what you're looking for.

The TL is by far the most practical of the bunch - 4 doors, seating for 5, and a good level of luxury.

The Z4 is probably the least practical. Driving a roadster in the winter doesn't sound like much fun, even in PA (assuming this is your daily driver).

The G35 coupe and 350Z are very similar. The G35 would offer more luxury and a back seat. The Z would get you more performance for less $.

How did you come by this list? The TL just seems out of place...

Well how often are you going to need to use the additional 2 doors of a four door?

I mean like recently I have been driving the trans am to work instead of the TSX just cuz the poor TA got all ignored when it was snowing like crazy.. and I always get shit cuz i cant drive to lunch without making somebody do yoga to get in the back seat...

How often do you take friends out etc.. I mean it is something you should seriously think about as far as your choice..

But if you dont ever drive anybody and your back seat is almost never used, i would go with the G35 coupe 6MT and re-badge it a skyline

This is why I am so confused. I really do want a fun car. But as you get older, you want some more practical things, so that's why I really was looking into the TL. It drives great, and has all the bells and whistles. The only thing I don't like is the exterior. Not that it isn't nice, but it seems a little boring. Even with the A-Spec package it seems just ho hum. But for the $$$, it's a great car.

The 350ZR is nice and has a drop top. Plenty of power and rides really nice. My beef with this car was the interior. It's just kinda ugly IMO. But for the $$$ it's a good deal on a roadster.

The G35C falls into the same category as the Z. Beautiful lines on the outside, plenty of power, but the interior just comes up short.

And the Z4, well I have always liked them for some reason. I've driven it a couple time and just really like how it feels. Of all the cars, this would be the one I would most likely get, but the $$$ is a factor here. I did look at the 330CI, but you just see way too many of them around and I would like something a little different.

Well, we will know in a few weeks what I decide.

Thanks for the input everyone!!

G35C, I have an '03 and I love it! The '05 is even better and has more power (298HP) if you get the 6MT.

G35C or TL...But, since interiors do alot for me, I'd lean towards the TL...

I'd go by how the dealers are in your area. You can assume the service at BMW will suck because it always does, but if you're happy with your acura dealer go with the TL (although the new ones kind of look like overgrown civics, I think they're slowly growing on me though (due to my trying hard to like them)). Also keep in mind acura's fix for the 2nd gen 3rd gear clutch pack (oh wait, there isn't one).

Read the 350z + G35 forums, see what kind of problems people have and how the dealers in your area handle them.

Been looking at different cars recently and been annoyed at acura's handling of situations so Ive been reading all the other forums, looks like most other people go through the same shit we do (except for lexus/toyota buyers). The subaru wrx forums definitely convinced me never to get a wrx. I guess if you aren't worried about service/problems/etc then get whichever one you want, however my TL has convinced me that dealer service is a lot more important than I previously thought.

Ignoring all that, G35 coupe is the sexiest, and has a backseat in case you do want to bring some people out to lunch...

Are you getting stick or manual? That would seriously influence my answer.

I bought a ZR last April 9th. By December 1 I put just over 12k on it and I'm 6'2" using it as a daily driver and fun weekend blast around town car. It rides well, the tunes sound good enough for stock, it always turns heads, goes great (though I am looking to buy a S/C for it this year), is reliable, and is just plain fun to drive. You know when you get out of this car you turn around to look at it just to admire it some more and stare at it when you walk up. I love my Z, looked at Z4 but loaded up the way the touring came stock would have been a 14K premium for less performance. I'll take my Z and anyday. Pics are here:[IMG]I bought a ZR last April 9th. I was waiting for you to chime in. Yeah, the 350ZR was nice. I hear what you are saying, when you get out of the car, you do need to look back and check it out again. Man this is gonna be a tough decision.

On a side note, did you happen to have the tire feathering issue?

You never answered my tranny question. If it must be auto then G35 as it has somewhat of a back seat vs. the Z and I don't trust Honda auto V6's. Stick then maybe the TL as it is pretty sweet with the A-Spec and is a 4 door. Coupes are a PITA.

It's gotta be an auto. The girl wants to be able to drive it from time to time and truthfully, since I sit in traffic each morning on my way to work, I'm tired of driving stick.

I am almost sold on the 350ZR (dealer is offering car at invoice minus 1K since it's an 04 leftover) which is a good deal. Best I could do on the G35C was $500 over invoice, the TL was $2k off MSRP, and the BMW I haven't had a quote yet.

I would hit the G35 for room, but the 350ZR is just bad ass with the top down.

I think I'm gonna have my brother bring me home a G35C to give a little more of a check out. Since he works for West Chester Infiniti (sorry, shameless plug, go see my brother Dominic if you need an Infiniti) should be no problem bringing one home.

I think I've narrowed it down to the G35C or the 350ZR. I need to decide which one I can live with for the next couple years....

$500 over invoice is pretty good IMO on the G35C. He's gonna bring one home for me today to check out again.

IMO, G35C>350ZR. I prefer its looks and the fact that it has a back seat. The 350ZR, though, would be nice on sunny days, just cruizin around.
