Don't use McGuard wheel locks

They are such junk. The threads inside the key bent trying to get the lock off. It's now wasted. I have to find a way to get 3 locks off now. 2nd time it happend. Had another set a few years back do the same thing.
Both sets on an Explorer.

All wheel locks are garbage, the tuner nuts and sockets suck and offer very minimal protection. They make tools to easily remove them, so it souldn't be difficult to get them off. Wheel locks offer a false sense of security and are always a pain in the ass, my

Bought 2 sets. No luck with them yet. The tool slides off under pressure. Going to heat up the lug next.

If your wheel has a center cap that covers the nuts it should be fairly easy. If it does not be aware the heat will discolor the wheel. Another way to remove them is to grind a slot into the center of the wheel lock and put a chissel bit on an air hammer and turn it off that way, that always works if you have the space to get in there.

Good luck!

No no I mean drive it till the wheels are hot then try again. It worked out anyway I was able to hammer the bent metal in the key with a punch. Got it just enough to grip the locks & get them off. The set went swimming in the atlantic when I got done.

Aren't factory wheel locks made by McGuard as well? I haven't had a problem with mine yet.
