Oh believe me I'm completely in agreement with you regarding the geographic location and history of Maryland, Virginia, etc.

But in the DC Metro area there is no allegiance to the South or Southern heritage. People around here are so politically correct that they feel if they admitted or claimed to be from the South that in some way that would make them a racist because they are so ignorant that they think core of Southern heritage and history is Slavery.
