Interior of the year?

Sorry, but the Caliber beat out... anybody? Seriously that is one of the WORST interiors in the automotive world. I got in and opened the top storage bin on the right side of the IP and it didn't even spring up. The door just sat there. I had to lift it up and reach inside with the same hand while it stayed closed on my wrist. Plus it looks like it was designed by some guy with a ruler. Awful, just awful. What a joke of a travesty of an award.

Ward's also awarded prized for Best Brand Expression to the Jeep Wrangler, Best Interior Trim to the Infiniti G35, Best Cup Holder to the Chrysler Sebring and Best Overall Comfort to the Lexus LS 460L. Check out all the award winners after the jump, and pontificate on the state of affairs that led us to this day when domestic interiors are getting props aplenty.

Wife's aunt has a Caliber and I drove it for a bit while in Florida. Let me just say that by comparison, the Caliber's interior makes the 02-06 Nissan Altima's interior seem like a Lexus.

Cadillac has come out with some very nice interiors. The new CTS looks wonderful. I can't think of any others, but you must respect the Caddy, looks sharp.

Confused Maxima Owner
^ I agree the CTS interior is hot, even though the radio/ac panel is confusing it's still a very niice ride. As for that caliber.....
that's hideous, looks like the result of rice meeting burgers.

how handsome I am
I agree that GM and some of the ford offering (trucks and lincolns) are beginning to show me something worth looking at, but god damn what the fuck is a dodge caliber doing up there. The thing looked cute when it first came out but god damn it is ugly as fuck.

Burning Brakes
The new Aura interiror is pretty good for a family car. I like the new GM medium brown interiors. The Buick Enclave interior looks nice (the must have spend a fortune on all the car magazine inserts last month).

Burn some dust here
Economy-Priced Car Honda Fit Dodge Caliber
Popular-Priced Car Saturn Aura Nicer than the Accord, Maxima, or Camry in my opinion
Popular-Priced Truck Chevy Silverado Absolutely no argument here....new Silverado has the nicest interior of all the full-size trucks
Premium-Priced Truck Lincoln Navigator Cadillac Escalade I agree with the Escalade, unless it is being compared against the GL450, Audi Q, or new X5
Best Interior Trim: Infiniti G35 3-series has a nicer trim than this....so does the TL
Best Overall Comfort: Lexus LS 460L. Don't disagree with this....you could honestly put the LS, A8, S-class, 7, or XJ here without too many problems

Tested: 2007 Dodge Caliber R/T - Short Take Road Tests
Dodge’s entry-level vehicle offers all-wheel drive, but the Caliber isn’t all that good.
June 2007
Forget about any Dr. Evil–esque puns. For starters, the Dodge Caliber isn’t nearly as pretty as a fembot. The look, echoed by Dodge’s “anything but cute” advertising tagline, is a purposeful departure from the Caliber’s predecessor, the bug-eyed Neon. Moreover, the last Caliber we tested finished sixth out of seven in our May 2006 comparison test of $15,000 entry-level cars. That Caliber was a base SE model with a 148-hp 1.8-liter engine. The R/T comes with a larger 2.4-liter that produces 172 horsepower. The price inflates accordingly: Our test car, equipped with a continuously variable transmission, came in at $19,985. Adding all-wheel drive kicks an R/T’s price to almost $21,000.
The elevated sticker price on the Caliber R/T invites comparisons with cars that weren’t part of that cheap-car comparo, such as the Mazda 3. Although the Caliber’s chunky looks make it seem deceptively large, it’s actually three inches shorter than the Mazda. Compared with a Nissan Versa (which finished second in that comparo), the Caliber is four inches longer.
At least the Caliber’s interior space isn’t wasted. Head-, shoulder-, and legroom dimensions are all close to the Mazda's and Nissan's, but the Caliber's 19 cubic feet of storage space trump the 3's by two and the Versa's by one. When it comes to the feel of the interior, however, the Caliber falls far short of the competition. Our R/T test car came with a nice-looking glossy red surround to the radio and climate-control stack, but the rest of the interior plastics felt cheap. On the positive side, there are a number of thoughtful design elements, such as an AC power adapter and a rubber-lined, fold-out arm on the center console that’s perfectly suited for holding an iPod or cell phone. There’s also a bin above the glove box that keeps cans and bottles cool with the help of the A/C system. It’s a clever idea, but there’s not enough chilling power to cool off a warm beverage—start with a cool drink, and you’ll see better results.

i have to disagree that the 3 series has a pretty ordinary interior than the G35. i sat in the new 335i at the dealer and thought it was an interior designed in the 90s.
this is how i judge interior: TL>new G35> 3 series.

See it in person and there arent many you will find better looking. Caddy did a great job. The materials, fit and finish, the layout. That picture doesnt do it justice
