Does this Insurance Quote seem fair?
Oh I forgot to add, how long before the insurance goes down? Someone mentioned after I turn 18, and with no tickets, accidents etc, then it'll go down. And after that, after your 25 it'll go down again?

I read the post more carefully. I thought it was a 1998 camry. The rates do seem a bit high. You might want to check if there is collision coverage attached to the car. Only coverage i'd put on this car is liability and UM.
Mongolion, what's liability and UM?
Edr0e, what's ful coverage, what do those numbers mean.
Tomorrow I'm going to go with my mom to the insurance place, anything to look out for be aware of etc etc

Liability coverage limits (that's for the damage you do to others) are usually presented as a series of three numbers. For example, your agent might say that your policy carries liability limits of 20/40/10. That stands for $20,000 in bodily injury coverage per person, $40,000 in bodily injury coverage per accident, and $10,000 in property-damage coverage per accident.
Insurance co is gonna ask you how many miles you plan on driving everyday, if your car is garaged, your location ( all these factor into how much your premium is going to be ) Some insurance companies actually have good student discounts, you might want to ask about that.

1200-1400 / year estimated quote. Is this a fair quote, or is it too high?

That's very fair for a first time driver. When I got bought my first car (1998 escort) I was 22 and my insurance was $2400/year with no accidents or tickets. That was with Progressive, I then switched to Geico and now I'm on AMEX. I pay $600 every 6 months for both my TL and Escort.
To answer your question, my insurance never went down while I was with Progressive, eventhough I never had tickets or accidents. It went down when I switched to Geico, went down more when I turned 25 and even more when I switched to AMEX.
Your 16 and live in Southern Cali. YOu have everything AGAINST you when it comes to car insurance.
Depends on the insurance comapny as to whether it will drop when you turn 25. Most yes, but again because you are in cali some don't in that state. USAA does not.

I was paying 143/mo for full coverage on my '01 CLS when I was 19 so that isnt too bad a quote for a first time full coverage driver. If its just liability thats kinda steep.
Liability is if you cause the accident with another driver and or property then they/its covered not your vehicle.
UM = Uninsured motorist. If you get in an accident with someone who doesnt have insurance and its there fault your covered(I think thats what it is)
The 300k/100k/300k is the money limits covered under the insurance.
Hope that helps

Got the insurance done on Friday, I think it was 1200 and I can drive both of my mom's cars, and it's only 1 way. Lady said Insurance doesn't go down for atleast another 3 years, then if I dont have any accidents/tickets then I'll be eligible for Good Driver discount.
