Dodge Challenger

Any thoughts on the new Dodge Challenger that is due out soon??? I just read the article in Car and Driver. I always said I would not purchase a dodge/chrylsler but it does not look half bad. Even the interior looks nice.

Well King,

Its not suppose to be made till 2010. So we still have awhile before seeing them on the roads.

I for one am in love with it! Looks sick! https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=309747&page=3

it does look awesome and I doubt Chrysler will wait until 2010. I bet 2007 is reasonably soon enough to see this car. they need to shed a few lbs off it though 4110lbs is very high for a coupe. get it down to 3700-3800lbs and that thing will be sub 4sec 0-60 car!

The Challenger at that weight you mentioned would need at least 550+HP to be a sub 4 second car. A Z06 i.e. is a sub 4 second car.

Well maybe I was exaggerating a bit, but it currently weighs in at 4110lbs and at 425HP its projected to be 0-60 in 4.5 secs, so if you take 400lbs off that car you take close to .4 secs off that total so 4.1-4.2 would be realistic. Still fuckin' fast, inexpensive and very nice and bad-ass looking too!!!!!!

i cant respect any coupe that is 4100 lb's. its such an american car company move to make a bloated coupe and then throw in a big engine to make up for it. the environmentalist in me calls it irresponsible, and the automotive engineer in me calls it simply bad engineering

you can do whatever you want to it, but 4100lb's is not going to carve corners well (and yes i can think of plenty of exceptions, just not any reasonably priced ones)

edit: i think the car has a well styled retro look, they did a good job on the appearance and interior
