Do you think wagons will make a comeback?

I'd buy that Accord tourer in a heartbeat.
My wife and I are looking for wagons, and about the only ones that appeal to us price, space, and style-wise are a couple of VWs-the Passat and the Jetta Sportwagen. The Sportwagen has a surprising amount of cargo capacity for its size and price, while the Passat is only a tad bigger in that regard. The Audi's seem a bit smaller for the price, same goes for the Volvos.
I'm still on the fence though.
But if the Accord wagon or Stream/Latitude ever made it here, we'd downsize our Toyota Sienna in a heartbeat.

However, since the point of us downsizing our family/cargo car is to save a bit of cash, I'm not sure I'd pony up the premium to get an Audi. I can get the 2.0T engine with DSG along with some other equipment in the Jetta for under 30 grand MSRP. It certainly won't be as nice as an Audi though.

I LOVE wagons, with one glaring exception which would be Subaru's. Around here only lesbians drive the Forester and Outback, it's awful and they all drive slower than shit. If Acura brought the Honda Accord Tourer here I bet it would sell very well especially given the price of the regular TSX.

I'm not sure she cares about image as much as the next gal (she married me for gawdsake), but Subaru is a car make she just doesn't like for herself.

^^ Lol...yeah, the Forester and outback get a bad rap for being a lesbian ride, but like them (though I' m a dude), I love the function, utility, and turbo of my Forester XT regardless. The AWD is awesome and the mod potential is insane. The aftermarket is plentiful and there's a good number of sleeper XT's on the road making an upwards of 250-300+ whp. We're talking more power than a stock STi. But hey, power isn't everything, sometimes it's about tossing that 5' book case in the back or misc furniture, gear, whatever.
Anyhow, after my RL goes bye-bye in August (lease return), I'll probably end up taking what I used to pay monthly and toss it towards mods. My intention is to eventually make mine a nice sleeper wagon, with STi internals and suspension.

One of our local reports (Peter Silverman) has an Outback. Anytime there is cars discussed on his show, he just raves about it. He's has it for many years now. I'd go Sub as well if I was in the market.

^^^ That's too funny. Here's a thread from a Forester Forum I frequent about an XT dragging against some american muscle. It's like 1/10 of a mile race (not 1/4)....

Not sure about a wagon comeback. Practicality / versatility and truly drives like a car. (Not to mention way better fuel economy than an 'equivalent' SUV ... However, I don't like how one can't truly 'conceal' things like a true trunk (and yes, I know they make covers but they are not really lockable, per se.
I still consider Volvo wagons to be the most esthetically 'pleasing' of the wagons around (since I never see the E-class ones in Canada where I live). And the talk about Subarus being driven by lesbians ... does it really matter?

We have a Forester XT (2004) and an RDX (2007).
Really, the crossovers are just tall wagons. The good part about tall in the RDX is the flat floor and the ease of dealing with kids in car seats. Plus the RDX handles pretty damn good for what it is. My last car was a 2004 WRX wagon. It is MUCH easier to deal with kids in the back seat in the RDX because of the height. The RDX is not too tall--it is shorter than most other crossovers like the Murano for instance. Just all enough for a flat floor. My WRX handled better, but the RDX is better for the reality of an urban commute/family hauler.
My wife drives the XT (she has a much longer commmute, so we put the miles on the older vehicle). She is not a lesbian (not that I would necessarily have a problem with that...)

I roll an '02 Volvo Cross Country and though I'd rather be driving the wife's xi, the wagon is very comfortable, has plenty of room, has a great stock sound system and has been very dependable thus far.

I think hatchbacks like the Mazda3 will definitely become more popular.... I guess they're considered wagons...

I think Subies and Audi's show you don't have to have a dull and boring wagon. Especially with the Subie, hmmm....bigger turbo....yum.

My biggest gripe with the RS6 Avant is that it's an extremely heavy car. I also don't see why one would shell out so much for a 580hp wagon. While it's extremely powerful, I hardly imagine that it returns any if not any sensations at all. In due respect, it's still a mechanical feat though, I'd rather see the M5 Touring stateside.

Hatchbacks have never really gone away --- they've always been very popular here (I think moreso than in the U.S.). However, I think of a station wagon as more of a full-sized vehicle (eg: Legacy, Volvo, etc), not like the compact hatches (eg: Mazda 3).

Its up right now Just search Top Gear Season 11. I personally am not a fan of either variant of the M5, I'd rather the E63 Wagon or the RS6 Avant, just personal preference I guess

I've always thought E90 sedans looked funky, their only saving grace being black lines, but that wagon is That's one wagon I'd take over the sedan variant.
