my brother in law has a Montero(it's okay) but i wouldn't have bought it. I would have gave a little more paper for a MDX or Land Cruiser.

Mitsubishi will survive. There have been more shake-ups than that in the automobile industry in the past. Plus their cars are so inexpensive for what they are people will continue to buy them. Not me, not ever, but...

IMHO, I think Mitsubishi will find a suitor in much the way Nissan found one in Renault. For Mitsu's sake, I just hope they can find a Carlo Ghosn couterpart to resurrect that brand.

Mitsubishi is down for the count. They'll either get picked up like Nissan did or they'll just spiral to their death.
At this point, only Toyota and Honda are independent brands in Japan. Mitsu was supported by DCX, Nissan by Renault, Mazda by Ford, Subaru by GM. I can see another Ghosn-like figure coming in an taking over Mitsu and turning it around.

The sizzle in the Steak
Mitsubishi may dissapear from the U.S. market soon. Even if the Eclipse is a hit, the rest of the line-up are not big sellers. They will continue to survive in Japan for sure.

'Big Daddy Diggler'
I feel like all the japanese car makers have lost their souls in the US. Back in the mid 90's we had the, 3000gt vr4, eclipse gst/x, 300zxtt, supra, rx7 and others. Now i know the 350 is badass and it brought the z name back, and the rx8 will have a turbo mazdaspeed version soon, but look at mitsu, they have the evo, but what about guys that cant spend the money on that car. It lists at a low price, but dealers are over charging for the damn thing all the time. They need to bring back the eclipse with turbo and awd. Toyota needs to bring back the supra or something wo take its place. Honda is hanging on a thin line with the s2000 and the NSX although, cool as shit, is mad old. look at American car makers, they are not afraid to make powerful cars. All american manufacturers have at least 1 400 horspower car these days, whats up with that?

we went through(and starting to finally come off of it) trend of SUVs,SUVs and SUVs.
Now we're in in a Horsepower war. (much like the late 60's with the orginal Hemi and muscle cars)
Next(in my opinion) will be alternative fuel/ well built cars. The thing is Yeah you take that 300C making 340 or about 350 hp it's fairly fast for a sedan but after 100,000 miles will it be as dependable as a Accord or Camry. Also when your getting 17-18 mpg on the highway compared to the new v-6 accord hybird getting high 20s. Personally I'd rather have a little less performance and have rims, stereo and cool crap like that then give it to greedy oil countries.

sorry I forgot to add this point:
but another reason I believe Mitsubushi Motors in U.S.A. is failing is due to poor quality. people view Japanese and European quality as above Domestic so therefore sometimes they are willing to pay a little more for it. If you search threads the Lancer Evo is WELL KNOWN for having a terrible clutch problems. So even if Mitsubushi motors has a design on the Eclipse is awesome they better improve how they build cars or their done in the U.S.A.
