I don't know if I'd call my Element a "beater" since I take good care of it but it's perfect for the beach, hiking, Sam's Club and Home Depot runs, and moving shit around. The Porsche is completely non-functional for those types of activities although I have been able to squeeze some girls in the so-called back seat![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
911 is still the daily driver.

I really didnt want to get a beater again but now I will be driving a 100 miles a day for work so I bought a 2000 Integra LS with 95k on it and the 09 G8 GT will be taking out when it is decent outside during the winter and to shows/weekends during the summer time.
Is a beater expensive?...yes but it depends on the situation you are in. For me it will be beneficial in the long run as I will not need to spend 25k-40k for the now "avg" car price every 5 years considering the mileage I will be putting on. My plan is to keep the G8 GT with low miles for a while as 360+HP never gets old and I will always smile at the gas pump with the Integra. My fiance has an 07 RDX Tech so that will be my driver during snow storms if need be.

2001 Ford Taurus SEL as a daily work "Beater". My CL-S sits in storage until winter is over, my 2004 MDX is in my garage to haul misc. crap around and famly, and my wife has a 2004 Accord EX V6 sedan as her daily driver.
And a 2002 Suzuki Kan-Tuna for the moments when I want complete solitude when the weather is nice.

Nope. See no reason too. The only reason to get a beater is if your car is too impractical to use everyday. I only wish I had a civic or something for a daily when I have to fill up with gas as 15 mpg and premium fuel is not easy on the wallet. I think its a waste to buy a nice car and never use it though if you have no decent reason not to.
