I do. I get really angry when people cut me off or don't signal. I hate people who text and drive. I drive up to them and honk at them to get their attention. But I really hate people who don't signal.

Like today this plumbing truck cut me off within .5 CL (Car Length) I went around him and honked at him he cut me off again. So I went in front and brake checked him multiple times.

Do you get road rage?

I get road rage when kids in cars brake check me while I'm driving my plumbing truck. Makes me want to get out and take a pipe wrench to their fragile little skull...Just sayin'

I am sorry to hear that. If your implying my age and my "road rage" your obviously confused. He cut me off within .5 car length I had to slam on my brakes then I went around him and honked at him and he cut me off again.

Sorry to hear. I think every brand has equal number of offenders. Best thing to do is avoid road rage but when the person does the act again that gets me angry!

I'm not confused. It doesn't matter what he did.

What I'm saying is, you need to watch your step while your behind the wheel. You never know who or what you're going to run into.

+1. You don't know whose behind the wheel. My appologies for misinterpreting your post.

Like I said I was just extremely angry that he cut me off again. I am a courteous driver. I don't cut people off and if I do make a mistake I roll my window down and raise my hand as to say "Sorry about that".

No. I get annoyed, but I don't mess with people or get dramatic. I just find a way to get around and away from them.

Yesterday a Crosstour just kept moving over changing lanes and almost hit me. I hit the brakes and beeped to try to get his attention, but he kept coming. Fortunately another lane opened up, so I moved and went around.

I used too. Then a couple years ago one of our required driving courses was about Road Rage.

It made a couple of good points:

- Don't escalate the situation. If you "react" by honking, brake checking, gesturing, tail-gaiting, etc, you just increase the risk of making things worse.

- Most people aren't trying to make you mad or create a dangerous situation. As often as not it may be simply a mistake or a lack of situational awareness. Not to say that is "good" or "OK", but the point is, it's not on purpose.

So I try to let it go. I've gotten better. I still grumble and gripe when someone does something stupid ("Pick a lane!! Moron!), and left-lane hogs still piss me off, but I don't mad and I don't "get even".

The closest to "road rage" that I get is flooring it when someone flies up on my ass and then tries to pass me on solid stripped road.

The only thing that really bothers me is exceptionally stupid driving in certain situations, like when I'm cutting it close time-wise and people are going under the speed limit in the passing lane... or if I get cut off and there's passengers in my car. Generally I keep my cool because it's not worth giving a fuck about someone who isn't worth fuck anyway

Raging at them won't change a damn thing. If it did, considering how many people out there have a short fuse on the road, we would have exceptional drivers today

I have learned to not let others affect me as much as they used to, maybe it's a maturity thing.

The one thing that drives me nuts are texters, somtimes i will brake check them if they are doing it.

Also people who hang out in the left hand lane just kills me. We have MD drivers that don't seem to understand what the hammer lane is for.

Why create more drama then you need? Just honk at him and let it be.

I'm the same behind the wheel and away from the wheel. I do know people that are chill outside, but get road rage easily behind the wheel. I got my sister and female cousins that are tiny and chilled people outside, but would get road rage and curse and honk at drivers when they drive badly.

I used to have little road rage here and there, but not as bad as others who honk and abruptly cutting people off.

But like the above posts, I learned that people do not do it on purpose. What if they're driving slow cause they're trying to find the correct building? What if they didn't signal because they honestly forgot? What if they're driving slow on the left lane because they're engaged in deep thoughts about something going on in their life and not realize that they're going slow (because I've done it)?

I think about all the times that I get mad at people doing "stupid" stuff on the road and then I think back about the times when I did the exact same thing. We all share the road. And if you do the math, going faster doesn't make you get to your destination that much faster.

not really ... unless someone does something really stupid ... cutoff duznt bother me that much, tailgaiting not so much either, but driving slow in the left lane and now moving out of the way for faster cars really gets under my skin

It used to bother me a lot, but over the years, I've calmed down.

Yeah, the left lane hoggers and the highway cell phone texters piss me off, but not to the point of road rage

2 wrongs...

Around metro Toronto, "left lane to pass" is gibberish. It's all free game. Gets a bit better when you go out of town, but in town it's horrible.

Speeders and weavers don't bother me as long as they don't cause me to brake unnecessarily. Tailgaters are annoying but don't drive me nuts. The closest to road rage I get is getting side-by-side with another car to prevent someone from passing.

Well stated.

Another thing: If someone does cut me off (or generally drives in a way that completely crosses me) and afterwards recognizes the "error of his or her ways" then, my annoyance immediately dissipates. I respect people who recognize and acknowledge their mistakes.

I used to get road rage. Now (as an annoying BMW driver), I don't get angry any more. I just go around them. 90% of the time, they don't really have any choice but to let me get around because it's physically impossible for them to prevent me getting around since I have a quicker car than most.

That's not to say I cut people off. From my own personal experience (and from being the passenger and observing other drivers), some people just don't pay much attention to the road, because as stated above, they are in their own little world of thoughts.

I get the rage moreso when I'm driving in either a full size bucket truck or a full size tanker truck. I feel like when i drive the TL I'm overcautious so I don't see as many rage type situations

I've gotten much better. I don't use my vehicle as an expression of that anger any longer.

but I still let out a "stupid/crazy/dumb bitch" from time to time.

I used to get it before, but after my cousin was shot and almost killed by someone he was screaming at because they cut him off, I've learned to relax A LOT. There are crazy people out there and any little thing you do or say can trigger a really bad reaction from someone. Now, as hard as it may be, I just keep my mouth shut, and continue on to my destination. It just ain't worth it.

I used to be real bad. In my 20's, I got out of the car once to get in someones face who cut in front of me. I got to their window and saw it was just a girl who was very scared. I felt like a tool. Years later, I accidentally cut someone off--knew it was my fault. A guy got out of the car looking psycho(with 2 kids in the car--young kids)...I apologized and he went away. I was on my way to getting laid so I had no interest in fighting with some family guy in front of his kids.
Since then I have mellowed quite a bit. I just dont let it get to me and gesture apologetically when its my fault. Although the other day some guy almost crashed into me on a one lane bridge. He rolled down his window thinking it was MY fault. We exchanged obscenities--then he drove away. Good thing--I could have seen that getting much worse and people in my neck of the woods carry heat all the time ( I dont). I'm a pretty big guy and could see someone smaller shoot me in a heated situation. So in short--yes. But for the most part I keep it in check.

Where did the BMW road rage issue start btw? Just curious. I have seen plenty of "aggressive" drivers in TSX/IS cars.

Its odd but I want to share something. I have noticed most people that have "nice" cars that are tailgating/lane switching/driving like total idiots have lower end "luxury" cars.

For example. Many Lexus IS drivers I see are total idiots on the road. Weaving in and out of lanes not signaling...but I don't see that kind of behavior from drivers that have the GS/LS Lexus cars.

Same with TSX drivers. I see many "annoying" TSX drivers. With BMW its mostly the X3/325/328 drivers that drive like idiots. Most people with 5/6/7 series drive normally and calmly.

I've gotten better... sometimes I still get it here and there but try to remember that these people will be out of your lives in less than 3 minutes. It's just not worth the aggravation or the rise in blood pressure.

No. Why?
1. Too many psychos out there - sometimes those you least expect.
2. Rage and counter-rage can get very stupid and dangerous in a hurry.
3. It depends on what part of the country you are driving. Cutting in with 1/2 car length and without signaling is the norm in some parts.
