Where you had to think twice about going up against a Toyota Avalon?

The Avalon has abandoned its "Japanese Buick" spot for a position in the Sports Dept. The new 3.5-liter V-6 claims 280 horsepower, and it made believers out of us with a 0-to-60 run of six seconds flat. Its 14.6-second quarter-mile time at 99 mph cleaned up on the drag strip, too.

You should scurred right now.
Stock CL/TL's better think twice before they think they can easily out accelerate Aunt Buelah next time you are sitting beside an Avalon at a light.
Unless you have mods the new Avalon is a driver's race against a CL/TL, in fact auto CL/TL's will probably lose more often than not.

It's like the 350Z anniverary edition... More HP, but less torque then the standard model

It's like the RL... It has alot of HP, but it weighs a ton... It's all about the power to weight ratio...

confused as to the point of this statement. As proven by the C&D it is damn quick for a family sedan.

According to C&D it's comp is the 300C, Maxima, Buick Lacrosse, and Ford Five Hundred.

I had an older guy that kept trying to race me on the highway with one of these the other day. I didn't bite, but it did take off pretty quickly on the highway when he gunned it.
