did anyone watch pimp my ride last night?
want to talk about mess up a car. this kid had an old caprice classic cop car. took it shoot it this MOST gawd aweful baby shit color i've ever seen. then they put get these rims (they were IMO too big for the car) with jewels in in=CHEESEY.
then they made a big deal about in-dash C.B.(like on semi-trucks)=GHEY.
If I was a "big timer" with money and took my car there(which i wouldn't cause they do shitty jobs) i wouldn't have paid for that work. it was AWEFUL.

Actually i was watching the beginning of it tonite, i guess rerun, but i didnt watch all of it.. So i wouldn't know how they did on that one... But that car was terrible...

The only reason they do that whack shit is to show off what WCC can do. That whole program is like watching a giant fucking commercial for all the automotive sponsors.

But when they aren't on MTV, I'm pretty sure they do great work. If you go in their and tell them what you want, they'd hook it up. And it's not like there work is shitty quality, they do nice work. It's just the ideas that they use for the show are fucked up to real car guys. Why do you think X is laughin 90% of the time on the show?

i still vote the place i "worked" at (i.e. sat around and watched them do insane shit) aidesign was the best shop in the u.s.

Unique is just a REALLY nice rim shop that happens to have a table saw are you kidding me while I agree that most of the things that WCC does on Pimp My Ride is a complete wast of money they at least show some talent...

West Coast Customs is making tons of $$$$$... they will do whatever it takes... including following MTV's ratings on the show...
just remember alot of 14-18yr olds adore that show...and your thoughts of cool are not the same as those youngsters.

btw i think some of thier stuff looks like shit. i really hate it. a car should be retain it's origional design but also things that are not over done like a small body kit/lips, and rims and tires, drops, ect...... should all be done in a tasteful way that complements the car. i like a clean car that has an agressive look to it, makes a person look but also have them wonder what is in that car all while maitaining the stock look. and i do not adore the show, the show is crap.

WCC might do good work for their paying customers but on MTV its all about making the shit work for the day and look good on TV.
I was able to spend a few days working on the 55 Bell Air (Big Bertha) and its a prime example of what careless installers can do if given enough money.
This was a month after the car was finished, about two weeks ago. here is a list of what we had to fix:
- A battery drain which would kill a brand new battery in one over night sitting
- The Dakota Digital Dash didnt turn on.
- Only two of the DEI screens would even power up (none displayed video)
- One of the power antennas which push the screens out of the front bench seat was broken. (yeah power antennas, funniest shit I've ever seen)
- The best was when I called XM because the Delphi Myfi personal xm reciever stoped working. The rep @ XM said that the account was suspended because WCC didn't pay the bill. (it was supposed to be a prepaid 1 year subscription).
To sum it up: what used to be a drivable piece of shit; has now become, thanks to MTV and WCC, just a loud, pink even bigger piece of shit.....that starts up sometimes.
p.s. were still waiting for Mad Mike to send us the new gauge cluster and battery isolater.......

i still watch pimp my ride cause it is entertaining, you just can't expect anything nice to come outta there. everything looks so cheesy, and looks straight outta some ricer cartoon or something. but still it is pretty funny and X is hilarious.
