The dealership cracked the paint on my Cobra's hood..I COULD KILL!!!!
I went in to get something looked at on my car.....and whe the tech was done, he latched the hood and pressed (hard) on the front of the hood to close it. It took him two tries. Needless to say...when they pulled the car up, I looked at the hood right away....sure enough, there is a hair-line crack in the paint about 4 inches long!
The service manager came over right away to calm me down. One thing lead to another and now they are fixing my hood on July 26th. Thank god the car is white....and new, so they shouldn't have to blend into the fenders. I wish I never took my car in....now I have to look at a hairline crack (that not many people notice, but sticks out like a sore thumb to me) for the next week and a half

It looks like the paint and clear....I buffed it with a high speed buffer....and now you cant feel it, but you could before. If its actually in the fiberglass, I get a new hood. It looks like a cat scratch....If they would have offered to fix it right away, I'd be way happier!

It seems like they'll takin' care of you without a problem though. I'm sure it'll look fine once they're done with it.

Being a Ford, you’d think they would make it real easy to open/close the hood.
You know….since you’re gonna be under there all the time fixing shit.

Side joke at Nicky’s expense……..
When I bought my Legend Coupe back in 1991 I was showing off the engine to the guys at work one night.
It was getting dark and the one guy noticed that there was no light under the hood.
He sarcastically commented that even his new Ford Probe that cost 1/3 of what I paid had a light under the hood.
I told him that it was there because of all those late night “side of the road” repairs he would be looking forward to.
That got a laugh out of the group.![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Fast forward 8-years and I was still driving the Legend with 110K on the clock and his Probe had long since gone to that big scrap yard in the sky.

Jesal: The hose clamp on the radiator was cracked....I got a new hose with 2 "upgraded" clamps....thats when the tech set the hood and pushed on it with his palm. You NEVER push hard on a fiberglass hood....especially to close it.
As for longevity...acura....nissan....ford....chevy.....i f you take care of it, it will last. Do I miss the CL...a little, but when I power shift from a stop light 1st....2nd....and by the time I'm in 3rd....I'm at 100mph.....I forget all about it. I just ordered a Borla Stinger cat back that will go on next weekend, its garunteed to ad 25-30 rwhp and 15-20 ft.lbs of of TQ! Not many cars have a true 400rwhp on the street.....but I will.
.....WANNA RACE! I already toasted a C5 vette...and I'm bone stock!

TQ > MPG
Well my car needs a new paint job anyways, so I'll wait until I get a new hood to fix it. The GT is is boring looking anyway, so its a good excuse to replace it.

I am not stalking you man, been lurking there before I even joined here at ACL

Update....There is a known paint issue on the 2003 Cobra hoods from what my Advisor says...people have been getting little rock chips that turn into dime sized fuck spots! The body shop manager said that the new paint will have a light flex agent in it to prevent chipping and cracking.....my car goes in Monday for her surgery!
