Why would you want 12k any way? He was probably better off not having 12k.

Supposedly DDM pulled out of the HID business.

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1583933

And why anyone want 12000k HIDs? Isnt the point of headlights to illuminate the road?

DDM's are worse than Phillips/Sylvania/PIAA/Hella but still better than the ebay junk...I guess these days ricers expect a top notch HID kit for $30

They're not complaining about quality. They're complaing that what is be advertised is NOT what's being sold. And it's obviously being done intentionally.

People get their panties in a twist if their ebay purchase is not EXACTLY what was represtented in the description, but a somewhat popular corporation does it intentionally, on a broad scale, and people go, "meh".

I don't get people.

I bought bulbs off of ebay from advice here and they were shit, glare everywhere. I know someone with DDM bulbs and they dont have much glare looking at the housing. The light on the road is not as good as OEM but at least you're not blinding everyone + they have a lifetime warranty

did you look at the picture? 12K is exactly 12K.

Did you read the post? 10k is also 12k. And 4500k and 5000k are neither. And 6000k and 8000k are neither.

The only temperature correctly represented is 12k. 1 out of 6.

If you own a regular car, yes. If you own a Civic, no.

It's funny b/c when I bought my kit I was teetering between the two. Ended up going 5k. I'm actually happy they're both 4700k. That's a good temp range to be in. Light looks great and not a bad price

Ha ha...I actually bought bulbs from there and the kit to match to go in the lower fogs. My fiance's accord too...top and bottom.
So far, they've been great, almost 2 years trouble free and the lighting is fine.

A friend of mine did go with 5k though...and I DID think...wow, his blue is the same as mine. lol...luckily the 6k wa the hue I was looking for. I guess for 30 bucks with lifetime warranty one really can't complain.

Yeah, I'm not saying they're junk or that the temp range they offer is "wrong" or whatever.

I just think they should be selling kits that are 4700K, 7000k and 12000K. IOW - say they sell what they actually KNOW they ship.

How would all you feel if I listed wheels in the Black Market. 3 sets. 1 set @ 17", 1 set @ 18" and 1 set @ 19" but they all measured 18"? Close enough right? I'm sure no one would complain. Especially if they were a good price. Right?

It's an imperfect analogy, but it's the same idea. I say I'm selling one thing, but I'm really selling something different.

I revert to my previous comment:

I revert to my previous comment:
OK, so you dont understand that some people have low expectations for a $15 pair of HID's.

No, I don't understand why people have double standards.

If I misrepresent an item on Ebay/CL/Black Market classifieds, I'm a "scammer" a "bad seller"; someone to be avoided. If a company misrepresents it's product, nobody cares.

Worse, some people defend them.

I don't want to "win". I want to understand why some people think it's OK for a company to intentionally mis-label and/or misrepresent it's products.

I don't see what price, quality or anything else has to do with that.

Yeah, I'm with ya. They definitely should not be mis-representing their product. I'm just saying I don't care b/c I'm happy with the product, the 300 degree difference doesn't matter to me, and it's been working great. That doesn't make it right, but I'm not bothered.

If it was something blatently obvious (like I was paid for and was expecting HID and got halogen or whatever), then I'd be pissed, regardless of where I bought it from. But yes, I get what you're saying. There shouldn't be any mis-representation regardless of how big or small.
