DD: 2005 Acura MDX

I'm looking for a daily driver and am interested in a 2005 Acura MDX. I am looking for opinions on everything about this car.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Nice vehicle, but too heavy on the gas for a DD, IMO.

Well i drive about ~5000 in an Evo which gets worse mileage so... Not too worried about MPG

if you're not worried about gas, sure why not? it's a very nice and comfortable car.

Anyone own? First hand experience? Hows the reliability? Looks like a good pick up.

My dad has one. Never had any issues with it. Solid car with a surprising amount of car space. Quite comfortable as well. Steering feel very light compared with the EVO, obviously.

If you don't mind the gas mileage, it's one of the better choices out there.

For as little as you drive, sure why not. I like the MDX. I would get one if I could afford it and if I didn't drive as much as I do. Right now, it would be perfect for my wife. She works 3 miles from home.

That's pretty good deal. I sold an 03 base MDX with 46k on the clock for $19500 in Socal 6 months ago.

It's a nice vehicle. When the car was in our hands, I got 17 mpg on mixed driving.

Make sure you got an 04+ since they redid a lot during that year. I also think they added bluetooth on 05. I was looking on ebay you can get a lot with navi for around 20k. That sounds like a good deal to me.

The 2004-2006 MDX's are amazing. I used to have one for a short time, and driving that thing was great, it was comfy, had plenty of room for 5, the last two seats are kinda squeezed, but a kid under 15 should sit well. I got around 18 MPG mixed with my X, and that was with it being new. If you do get one, opt for the 2004+ ones, and as well invest in an HID kit, they really do compliment the X.

I'll also happily plug the MDX. My dad has an 04 and loves the thing. We live in Kansas City and it has no trouble with the rough roads, snow, rain or anything else they throw at us around here. During the fall we use it for our tailgates at Chiefs games and it's perfect for 4-5 adults, cooler full of beer and plenty of food to feed a small army.

We've taken it on road trips to Texas and driven it to every corner of Kansas City and have never had to "fix" anything on it. It's a great ride and I almost talked my dad into giving it to me when he thought about moving to an RL. Instead, I picked up my 03 TL-S and he'll likely drive his MDX until it dies... which will be never, at least based on the last 4 years of quality.
