So saturday i am gearing up for a road trip. I am driving to get gas, i park turn off the car pump my gas and then when i turn the car abck on the Radio wont go on. I tryied everything and it will not og on. All my fuses are straight an di ahve no idea what happened. Everything else works fine in my car.

My car is 2001 Maxima and the radio is bose. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i could maybe fix this situation???

i am assuming this is the OEM HU since it is a bose... but does the face even turn on??? if not you need to start with the power and see if you are even getting any juice to the harness in back... i would double check the fuses... make sure they are secure... and im not sure if nissan has two fuse boxes like hondas but check it all... if the fuses look good, i would pull out the radio fuse, and check if there is even juice going into that port of the box... do you have a meter???

 

I think the head unit must have lost a power connection somehow. It doesnt even light up or anything. Yes its the stock bose head unit.


PS my CL did the same thing but the acura CD player just straigth died oneday.

 

i would check fusebox for juice first... if there is juice there, then i would check at the harness.. diagnose from there.. if there is juice going all the way to the HU but still nothing... prob the HU crapped out...

at the harness, check the yellow wire for a constant 12+v, and check the purple wire for a 12+v when the car is on...
