AAA down here works a bit differently than AAA Michigan so it has been an eye-opening experience for me. They work pretty slow down here.

After much delay, my car is finally in the shop today. I'm driving a 2010 Altima base model with a bad fuel gauge right now. It will be interesting when I return the car.

AAA's adjuster forgot to include the strut (bent) and the lower control arm (also bent) in the estimate... he only put the hub and knuckle on there. What a knucklehead! The suspension is bent backward. Replacing just the hub and the knuckle ain't gonna do jack.

So the body shop said they are gonna battle it out with the insurance company. I'm hoping it'll be finished this week.

So here's what's getting all done -

Replace knuckle
Replace hub/bearing
Replace lower control arm
Replace strut
Replace OEM 19" gunmetal wheel
Replace OEM 19" Bridgestone RE050A tire
Repaint front bumper cover

This will all cost just under $3,000. $500 deductible, whew.

Let's go insurance premium!
