Damn the curb
I went to pick up pizza for dinner. Rainy evening. Pulling into the spot, I didn't see the island curb. It's really not necessary looking at the layout, but they put it there for whatever reason.
Wham, bam, thank you, ma'am. $2,200+ bill.
Car wasn't even two months old at the time.
It was the saddest $2,214 pizza I ever had.
I thought about fixing it myself but I'm leaning toward insurance.

Dang that sucks. I curbed my 1 week old rims when a sudden thunderstorm hit and I was trying to turn into my old condo's parking lot. It made my heart drop to the floor when I felt the car jump up in the air and heard the scrape. That was a very bad night.

$2200? Ouch!
I know how you feel. I curbed my wheels like less than 1 month after getting them. Funny thing is I never curbed my OEM wheels before. Still need to get them fixed.

Of course, go thru insurance.
In parts, you're probably looking at less than a grand...no?
Anyway, yeah, the one curbing I have on my works was from a curb that juts out WAY far into the street and it's hard to avoid when you take a turn into the parking lot. Friggin sucks.

$2,200? Ouch, I'd definetely go through insurance. That's a lot of stuff to get damaged from curbing.

My wife.
I'm sure you already knew that was a farce. I have no idea. Just some chick online. Here's a LINK to a bigger picture.

$2200? Holy hell.

I wish I could even say that. This was all me.
The OEM 19s cost $400 apiece and the Bridgestone Potenza is almost $400. Knuckle and hub were another $400 per, and the strut $150. These are all dealership prices, of coruse. Plus labor and alignment... right about $2,200.
I filed a claim yesterday. I could have sourced the hub, knuckle and strut online for $800 and installed them myself. The wheel took it like a champ and only had a spot ground up. Tire looked okay but there is probably internal damage. So I decided to just pay the $500 deductible and get everything fixed without the hassle to doing it myself. Like Kris said, that's what insurance is for.

Did they at least put you in a rental? What's taking so long?
