Dammit cops!!

Damn man. After 5 years w/o getting a speeding ticket today I got one .

Going down the same route to work as always a motorcycle cop hiding off down below a steep hill in between some trees he holds a weapon, looks like a gun! My POS GayDar Radar does not detect. I look to my left as I was incline speeds to 60 mph (rolling down) he stuns my car. Chases me down the road about 1/2 a mile. Sirens go on, I pull over. I get a pink slip saying that I was going 61mph and the speed limit there is 45mph and he looks at me before walking off and says have a nice day. Dammit!!

Well I think I am not a speed'er, but I think it is time to upgrade my radar detector. Seems like cops have upgraded to the lasar. I am not sure if there are true detectors that can detect LASER, but any of you know if there is???

This one is pricy but believe me its worth every penny. I have had mine for about 3 years now and it has saved me more than 20 tickets, at least. Do the math even if one ticket was worth 100 bux, thats 2K right there, it pays of in the long run. Do not waste your time and money on the cheap ones, they just make funny sounds and thats about it where as this thing does the job. Plus as Motor Trend mag said in one of its reviews of V1, "once you have lived with the arrows you will wonder how in the world did you ever lived without them". I know that Passport Escort is a good one as well but believe me the V1 makes it look like its from the stone age. Spend the 400 big ones and get yourself a V1. As far as Laser detection, well laser can only be detected from a short distance, from less than 1000 ft ( i could be wrong). But sometimes when the officer is shooting down others with its laser, your V1 can detect it and warn and give you JUST enough time to slow your ass down. If you are speeding and they gun you down with a laser, chances are that you will get a ticket because its very accurate, very precise because it pointed at you, good luck with the decision.

Did he get you with laser? Shoudl say on the ticket. Might have been instant on Radar. In either case if you were the only one on the road you may have gotten it with any detector.

Yea on the ticket is says he caught me on "laser"

What is wrong was he (the police officer) did this when he was hidding and at the bottom of a steep hill as I just let off on the gas and coasted. Easily I can gain 10mph faster.
* I know it's end of the month, they need to get there QUOTA. sucks. And to say that I have not gotten any tickets over the past 4 years.

61 in a 45 should be easy to get out of, especially with a clean record. Just for showing up to court here, that would get reduced to 9 over (no insurance hit)...might even be able to fight for 5 over with 5 years clean...

got mine taken by a QPP cop... Here in Quebec it's illegal to use them... I'm gonna go to court to see if I can get it back by saying I wasn't using it...

But indeed it's a great detector... Saved my ass a few times...

I just got a ticket tonight too, unbelievable, for 61 in a 45 also!

It's my first ticket in over three years of driving, and the only thing is I've gotten a warning at the EXACT same spot on that EXACT same road, does that show up on your record? I don't know if I want to go to court, I might just get even more penalties thrown at me and I CAN'T AFFORD anything else right now, much less the original fucking $180!
