Custom rims/tires = not happy ride quality. HELP!!

Need an opinion.

Right now on my wifes 2004 mazda6, we have some custom 18” chrome rims which look great and all. The tire size is 225-40-18 they are called falkin Zeux (spelling).

Anyways, I am not happy w/ the over-all ride quality of them. Since we purchased the car w/ these rims, I cannot compare how it rides versus stock OEM rims and tires.

Since now we are little older and careless about the flashy look or careless about complements from others saying how nice our ride looks. I just want good ride quality .

You all think I should go back to the OEM rims/tire size. There is a size 215-45-18 that offers for my rim, but I doubt it if the ride quality would be any better then the 40 series that I have on there now.

Any-suggestions?

18" on a mazda6 is gonna reduce ride quality for sure

I would have choosen for 17" 225-45 better performance/confort choice IMHO.

Try to sell the rims/tires and go shopping with the wife

I think if you want to really want to make it less of a rough ride, then go with 17's. Also, how many miles are on the car now?

Thanks! This is good to know. I knew I was not trippin

Looks great, but I careless about the style or being the "Hey, look at my bling! Now steal it" kind of guy. Guess my age is catching up to me. lol.

I have someone that offered their new Mazda6 17" 5-star rims & tires and plus $250.00 cash for my wheels and rims. Not bad, AE?
