Assuming at least for a drag race, the more sidewall you have the better generally. For handling purposes it wouldn't exactly yield more traction (at least from my experience) but it would give you more responsiveness and keep the car more flat in cornering.

First it was 15" front and 16" rear, then 16" front and 17" rear in 1994.
In 2002, it finally went to 17" front and rear.

I mulled over this notion 2 years ago...nearly pulled the trigger too on a 94 NSX but backed out because of the terrible winters here. If you live in a relatively milder climate, go for it. The NSX is like no car you have ever driven...and for so little. How can you say no to an exotic for something that affordable?
NSX FTW.

^^^NSX affordable?!?! They're still like $30k for a 15 year old one! Granted, that's less than a new 335i but its still alot of money for a 15 year old car.

Its an incredible versatile and reliable car.... I've never driven one (I wish) and I don't wanna bother wasting someone's time just to test drive one and look like some spoiled brat or a tire-kicker, but hell, even riding shotgun is fun as hell.
IMO it is pretty overpriced for what it is, but even then I'd still be willing to buy and own an NSX if I made enough money to afford one. Its exterior and interior has aged very well. It still looks better than most of the cars on the road today, and it was one of the best looking cars in 1991.

Zero, dont forget that this car does draw attention. I remember you didnt like that about your modded 350z...
Otherwise i put 100 miles on the NSX and so far so good. Also keep in mind that it IS still an old car. SO you will have to put money into it when things fail.
But what the hell was Acura thinking when they put the CD changer in the trunk? The damn CD skips anytime i hit a slight bump!

I shed a tear when I read synth's and Crazy Acura's threads ... 'cause I could have been rocking a '03 NSX from a Michigan nsxprime member back in late October/early November when C$1 = US$1.10 ... all for US$52k (C$47.2k!) before lovely Canadian taxes ... (Wife veto'ed that idea faster than I could even get a word in ... )

what kind of loan terms are you NSX buyers getting? Most banks wont even finance a car more than 6 model years old...let alone 15 years old!!!
No matter if its an NSX or a Yugo, cars are depreciating assets (with the exception of certain classics/muscle cars, etc) hell, even exotics lose their value. used Ferraris, Lambos, everything, they are ALL less than they were new. Look at a Countach for example, that was once a 6 figure car, back in the 80s no less!! now you can get one for well under 80k.
In any case, im just curious what banks are slinging loans on 15 year old cars these days?

if you dont want to answer i understand but do you care to elaborate on the terms? what percentage of the cost did you have to put down? how many years is the loan? what type of percentage rate did you get on the loan?

Well i wont go into detail of what I did but i can tell you what they will approve/offer.
They said they were fine with a 5 year loan with zero down. The rate was lower than 8% also. Hopefully that helps.

appreciate the details, thanks. I have been looking into purchasing a secondary vehicle about the age of your NSX and my bank (Chase) wont even give me a loan if i put down 50% of the purchase price!! Chase insists that for a vehicle that old, that I do a home equity loan but considering the shakey condo market here in chicago, im not looking to take money out of my condo when its likely there is not much to take anyway!!! plus closing costs on home equity loans can be expensive.
At this point i am beginning to look at alternative loan sources but dont even know where to begin. Knowing that its possible to score a loan in the high 7% range for a 15 year old car is encouraging though.
