The RX8 just got hit in a vital spot to knock the wheel off like that. Kinda like at certain angle a few pounds of pressure can dislodge elbows, ankles shoulders etc., you get the picture 
.

Pssst.... its a Mazda... two cars get in an accident 2 blocks away and the Mazda's wheel comes off... LOL
