Could you drive a car without

I shoot people
let's just say, I was in Canada earlier this month without my cell. phone, cable TV for 2 weeks... and that was rather tough... So, I can only imagine it would either taking A LOT of getting use to or, NO... I couldn't do it. It bothers me already that my sister's Toyota Solara doesn't have "auto" up on her power windows... (only "auto" down on the driver's side)

Things that I wouldn't absolutely 'need':
Leather
Heated Seats
Satellite Radio
CD and Radio if I could have an AUX outlet for my iPod![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
HP as long as I had torque
Dual Climate Control
Heated Mirrors
Bluetooth
Electric Steering
Navigation
Things I wouldn't be too happy about losing:
Power Windows
Power Steering
A/C all together
All music sources
A classy looking car
HID Headlights![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Actually thinking back the #1 feature I couldn't live without is the heater. Not because I'm a puss but if you live anywhere where it goes below 50 or 60 degrees, AND it rains, you will be fucked when it does. Imagine driving and having a towel on your lap, wiping away at your windshield every few minutes or stoplights.

Had a Ford Maverick with six inches of play in the steering and brakes that would send the car everywhere except where you were pointed. Ball joints were shot too so you didn't really steer the car, but rather guide it down the road. High school - ahhh, memories......
I will never have another car without climate control. It's such a luxury to not have to mess with the heat, ac, fan, etc. Just set the temp and forget it.
HID - or projector lamps will probably be required from now on as well. I've been spoiled. Getting into a car at night without them is almost frightening now.
Cooled seats would be nice too. Maybe the next one.

At this point, all I really need is power brakes. My step dad has a 71 chevy pickup with a 400 small block in it but no power brakes, trying to make it stop is scary.

I don't think power steering is crucial for most vehicles I've driven, power brakes on the other hand, HUGE difference. At speed you barely notice power steering, at speed power assisted brakes make driving safe with out having huge leg muscles. Though I would not consider them creature comforts by today's standards, with modern drivers they are safety features.
I don't need leather, but I sure like it, though seats in general are very important to me. Not so much as to millions of adjustments, but overall feel, I'd rather have a seat that fits me well in cloth then a nicely upholstered seat in leather that doesn't fit me well. I wouldn't want to deal with out power window's or AC, but I don't need heated/ventilated seating. I've never had nav. and have no interest in it, I could care less about traction control and ABS.

Instead of starting a new topic and because we're discussing about modern creature comforts, I figured I'd ask a question. Whenever I'm driving on the Hwy or streets, I'll tend to always give a double take to a car with bi-xenons headlamps. They don't matter to most people but I always thought that Bi-Xenons always project a premium look and aura to the vehicle. Maybe because I'm in Ottawa and I rarely see nice cars, I like to see a pair of xenons in a sea of regular white headlamps. I'm wondering if the people who live in larger cities feel the same or even bother to look what car it is.

i just had a rental w/ manual locks and windows. That was the worst.
I need an AC, power windows/ locks and a stereo... that is about it. Everything else i could live w/ out. I even like cloth seats.
