Costco Gas vs Other Brand Name Gas

I wanted to ask if anyone knew the difference between Costco Gas (91 octane) verses Brand Name Gas (91 octane, chevron, shell, etc.).

What type of gas are you using? Why?

Please clarify...

Thanks everyone...

I would stay away from costco gas in the TL, in a older lower compression engine it might be ok to save $$$, but you want a chevron or 76 in the TL.
The additives or detergents in the gas are much higher quality in a name brand gas, meaning less carbon build up and a cleaner engine. Costco gas is ment to be cheap and part of that is the use of less or less effective additives.

I only fill up at Top Tier gas stations unless I'm in the boon docks and have no other option. Especially in our cars which are known for detonation.

Top tier gas list in no particular order:
QuikTrip
Chevron
Texaco
MFA Oil Co.
Conoco
Phillips 66
76
Entec Stations
Shell
The Somerset Refinery, Inc.
Kwik Trip / Kwik Star
Aloha Petroleum
Tri-Par Oil Co.
Turkey Hill Minit Markets
Mileage Stations
Road Ranger
CountryMark
Chevron Canada
Shell Canada
Petro-Canada
Sunoco Canada

Why TOP TIER

The intention of the TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline standards is to create a winning situation for gasoline retailers, auto manufacturers and drivers. Currently, many gasoline retailers provide fuels with lower-quality additive packages that can build up deposits on fuel injectors and on intake valves. Others can build up deposits in combustion chambers and may lead to intake valve sticking. These lower levels of additives can have negative impacts on engine performance and vehicle responsiveness.

Although 99% of the time i fill up at Chevron. Pretty sure i remember reading that all gas is the same. It all comes from the same place. As far as the detergents some places put in, they put in such a small amount that it doesn't make a difference.

I use chevron all the time. I did notice V power little better performance. But at same time little less gas mileage. Once filled up my pops car with Arco, check engine went on. once buddy put arco in his car, it stalled for no reason. Cheaper gas is cheaper gas. Dont know about costco though. My mom fills her van with it, and it works i guess.

Arco is absolute shit...I will NEVER use it in my car. They say it all comes from the same place but that doesn't make it equal.
