It's cool and all, but for how much he has in the price of a new NSX and all the work he did (gotta be over $100k) I would rather have a Gallardo. Add up both NSX's and the Land Rover parked outside, I'd take a Murcielago, or a F430.

^^^ ok - the difference is, there isn't any way for there to be a REAL NSX-R here, as far as I know - a real one would be RHD, as someone said. i.e. this is different than say, if someone changes their standard Vette into a Z06 by adding all the pieces/badges etc, because you CAN buy a Z06 here.

Are you impressed by those who change their Acura TL into a Honda Inspire?

I still think the '95 NSX-R looks better just because of the flip-up headlights but both NSX-Rs are just beautiful.

He probably... actually has the nicest NSX in the country, but I would rather have a F430. Then if he could everything he has plus one of the cars I listed, I would buy a CGT.

Some people are more about exclusivity than anything else. Take a CGT to Crystal Cove - guess what - you won't stand out.

well the nsx was always known for its handling characteristics...i'm sure aside from the nsx-r suspension he swapped in...one other big factor is that the chassis on a nsx-r is probably much more rigid than a normal nsx. But then again, if you read the thread he doesn't really want to do anything that would greatly depreciate the value of the car and i'm sure spot welding areas to increase chassis rigidity would probalby hurt the value of the car + its a brand new freakin car.

yea it should be made clear that this car is obviously NOT a "true" Type-R. nobody was expecting it to be.

no its not, he didnt want to repaint the car, so he kept the whole car grand prix white and just painted the hood GPW and resurfacedt he wheels from championship white to GPW and pained the roof area black like an NSX-R.

championship white is kinda like an offwhite, like sorta yellowish, its nice.

well if you read towards the end, he said the handling is dramatically improved.

and he did list under the parts, that he got the NSX-R front chasis bars, so i guess he did tinker with the chasis

i still want it!

haha you guys are pretty funny here.......For those of you that don't know anything about the nsx or the parts. This guy has spent major bucks to get it as close to a nsx-r as possible. I give this guy a lot of props for taking the time and the money to do something like this. NSX-R parts are not hard to get but its not easy either, if you know the right sources its not too bad but it cost major bucks $$$.......

For those of you that don't know anything about the cost of parts the nsx-r hood is $10,000, nsx-r spoiler about $6000.00, nsx-r seats about $13000.00, nsx-r cluster $2600.00, nsx-r rims $4000.00 nothing on a nsx is cheap let alone a type-r one.
This guy probably has about $50-100,000 or more in parts and labor alone in the car. He did save some money buying some of the parts used but used is still more expensive than you average Honda/Acura part. So I don't blame him if he is happy with the grand prix white. As I agree with you guys on painting it championship white but that car is a brand new car since the dealer wrecked his 04 Blue one. He is one of the few guys that has a car that is pretty close to what a real type-r is. It is pretty much impossible to buy everything down to the T because he will end up spending more than what a real type-r cost.

Here is a link for you guys to see what type-r nsx parts cost.

Seems like a waste, all he had to do was strip that bitch. The point isn't to replicate the price of the nsxr, its to make a lighter/faster sportscar than an NSX-R....

I dont think he was trying to make it a full track car.......he just wanted to get it close to what a nsx-r is as far as looks and some goodies. Some nsx owners have one nsx for track only use and another one for every day use with some mods to it for street. So even though it might be a waste to you....it is not a waste to him because he enjoys doing what he wants (ie a project car). And if he has the money and time to do something like that then god bless him. He is one of the few fortunate people that can do something like that. That car is very clean and one of a kind here in the US.

God bless him for throwing money away? If You want an NSX-R from Honda, BUY ONE. If you want to build something yourself, make it perform better and for less money. Matching Hondas costs might as well spell out your accountant blows YOU.

Dude what the F is your problem? First of all you can't bring one to the US or obviously you would see people buying them. Second of all why do you have such a shitty attitude of what other people do with their money? You can build anything to perform better than that car but the bottom line is he wanted to build something like that for himself as a hobby......so if he wants to do something like that then so be it. If you don't agree with it then too bad.....you can do whatever you want with YOUR money. But don't be talking shit about other people just because they want to do something for themselves......he built that car to please himself and not YOU. Whether its cost efficient or not thats not your problem.

A. they don't make a left-hand drive NSX-R, and I'm not sure whether one could be imported here.
B. you just don't seem to get the point...

Yes, I don't get the point of buying a Honda built NSXR when you can build one yourself for less cash. Its laughable that people find value in a factory built car rather than one the consumer builds for less cash and performs better.

Since when does a car need to be left-hand drive to be imported here?
