Exchange an ICE driveline in a classic car to electric? No way if it costs $100k+!

Buy an electric vehicle instead of a gas one? Much more likely.

Sorry, I said yes but I meant no

The answer is definitely no. There's a lot more to most EVs than just the EV drivetrain. It's hard to really know what a car would be like when it's converted.

I'll probably convert one of my aircooled vw's to an electric drivetrain
It's probably not going to cost me 1/4 million fucking dollars though. Maybe 10k sounds reasonable... you know, the price of a nice ice drivetrain.
