is the concave wheel the deep dish KILLER?

through time the deep dish wheel with the "bigger the better lip" has stood the the test of time ....no matter what new design they through out there ......other than 5 star...those always seem to do good still deep dish or not .....

But this new concave design seems to be taking the market on a new direction .......and must say they are HOT ...and look crazy when rolling ...........Do you think at this point it will soon be over for the deep dish ? or will that always be a rim of choice ?

If you are going for that luxury look then I feel liped wheels with a mostly flat face is still king. That is not to say you can't have concave wheels give that luxury look but I feel it is more of a sport luxury look if it is a concave lipped wheel.

I was debating on concave or just lip for the IS-F. Went with just flat face lipped.

It's not replacing the lip or taking a new hold on the market, its more of a personal choice on design and engineering that many choose. Many are going with concave really since monoblock forged wheels are tough to make with a lip. Concave allows for super light, super deep wheels that look great!

IMO lips have their own place and concave has it's own place.

I don't think it's replacing anything, I think it's just here and it's gonna stay here. Just like lip wheels are staying here, people still run them. It's all gonna be just personal preference at this point.

^It depends on the manufacturer......as of now those wheels are pretty exclusive and made by forged methods so they are light....but in due time more companies will try and find a way to get those wheels to the consumers for less money and will make them however they can to get money............

So for now yeah ...and they are hot they give the cars a different look .....as opposed to the traditional wheels .....
