Well, there was at least one reason: publicity.
The adage is, "there's no such thing as bad publicity."

Thank you for continuing to publicize a seller of $80 T-shirts, $150 button front shirts, $200-$300 jeans and similar budget-friendly casual wear. Also available at Nordstrom.

I'm not sure everyone would agree in the modern day and age of social media (Twitter / Instagram / FaceBook, etc...) that there is no such thing as bad publicity. Reaction tends to be very quick and often times polarizing. How do you think the Minnesota Dentist that killed Cecil feels about the publicity he is getting right about now??? I don't think his balance sheet is going to look as good as it did last year.......... How about the couple from Indiana who owned the pizza shop and refused to cater a gay wedding??? I know they collected $840K from supporters but they had to close up shop. So not sure if they are better off but they had to live through the firestorm while it was happening and they did loose their business.

And it was in no way my intent to publicize a clothing retailer whatsoever - especially one who sells $80 T-Shirts. Just sharing a story of a senseless destruction of a Porsche on an auto enthusiast site

With all they being said - I do know what you were trying to say

Those guys are morons. I guess I'm not esoteric enough to understand what they were trying to say.
