CL-specific GReddy EVO Catback is out!

Woohoo, I just checked out GReddy's site. The exhaust is out for the CL. The retail price is listed as $980 USD.

Better than the AV6 EVO...no need to modify...and $108 USD cheaper!!!

GReddy Site

Oh yeah, GReddy V6 headers....still TBA:P

Yeah I noticed that a few days ago but didn't care to spend $1000 on exhaust to give me sound and like 3hp when I can spend that on headers and get 30-some hp.

I'm thinking about getting some HKS hiper mufflers and getting a muffler shop to custom pipe them to the bolt-on part of our exhaust. Should end up costing about the same as buying the HKS Super Drager but should be louder.

Yeah I have the HKS already thats why I e mailed them about a dyno. If its only 3 hp its not worth it but if its like 10 or more it might be

nice to hear greddy is coming out with a cl-specific cat-back exhaust system for our CL's. If you guys want to wait, Apexi is coming out with a CL specific cat-back exhaust system too. I'll let you guys know how it is. So seems like we have more choices now besides Comptech. No more Comptech monopoly on the aftermarket for CL's.

just to put things in perspective, the nearly $700 comptech exhausts are axle-back, meaning just the muffles ... at least they are giving you cat-back ...

Just ordered it today from my local shop. I paid $1364.11 CAD before taxes. That's about $889 USD after conversion(1.534).

At the above price, it'll take about a week and a half to get here.

So, I opted for 3-day shipping which will cost me an extra hundred-something bucks canadian on top of that.

I'll have it installed by Monday or Tuesday.

I'm sorry, but I probably will not dyno it. If I recall correctly, some members do have the AV6 EVO on their CL-S's. I think they only gained around 3 or 4 hp. So, I don't think it will be any better...it would probably be about the same.

Not too excited about $800-900 exhaust, but it is very encouraging because it may mean the headers aren't too far behind..... I hope.

1000 is still alot for exhaust that may only make a 3-4 difference. I think i might have to purchase some HKS now. It makes the $500 look alot more appealing.

Hi Big Al! How have you been?

Well, I really wasn't planning on the exhaust. I just got the itch to mod the car again and this is the one significant bolt-on that I'm missing...so, why the heck not. I went to Technik Motor Werks...did all my mods through them.

No rims yet. Still some good tread left on the stock rubber, so I'm gonna wait a bit and save some more coin before doing any more upgrades.

Let me get this straight, people complain that Comptech has a monopoly that allows them to overcharge. But you're happy that another company is producing exhausts that cost $400 more than Comptech ? Can't wait to see what these supposed Headers they're coming out with are gonna cost.

OK, I just had the GReddy EVO catback installed this afternoon. It is LOUD!!! Only similar to stock sound if I'm not stepping on the gas. Gonna get pulled over by police for sure .

(maximum allowable decibel limit for exhaust is 86 dB in Vancouver...GReddy lists the EVO at 95 dB)

Maybe it's just me since I'm used to the quiet factory exhaust note. When I start up the engine, it just roars to life. Anything above 2000 rpm becomes a loud, throaty drone.

Is it just LOUD or does it sound good...???

How much louder than Comptech is it??

Any chance of a dyno run to see if it adds anything??

duh, i think you all are morons for paying that much. i'm comparing apples to apples. so in this case: MSRP to MSRP.

i'm not gonna even say how little I paid for my HKS. i'll be able to find those greddy for much less than that as well.

Well, it is loud...and it does sound good in a way.

I can't really give you a comparison because I've never heard the Comptech or HKS exhausts.

oonowindoo stated that he didn't gain any hp from his exhaust...I'm inclined to think the same. Basically, the only difference between mine and his is that he had to modify his AV6 EVO to fit the CL-S...unless that would be a factor(hmmm???).
