Why should I buy a FRS over BRZ?
Morgan, tell me why. I just can't make up my mind.

TY, but that shot was taken by my friend. His flash triggers wouldn't work with my camera
![Sad](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/sad.gif)
-Do you like the mustache on the BRZ?
-Do you want HIDs stock?
-Do you like the chinsy silver painted plastics in the interior (BRZ)?
-Do you mind a navigation system that sucks (BRZ)?
-Do you want leather (BRZ)?
-Do you not want to worry about oil changes for the first 2 years of ownership (FR-S)?
-Which dealership experience is more pleasant to you?
-Do you not mind being asked why there is a swastika on the fender (86 emblem on the FR-S - you can't unsee that)?
But most importantly:
-Can you deal with the stigma of owning a Scion? I can't tell you how many times people are talking to me about the car and say "Man, I just wish it came over here as a Toyota" or "The BRZ is a better car" (its happened).
In my experience, Toyota is much easier to get information out of compared to Subaru, and the Toyota/Scion dealers are a nicer place to be (at least here).
I assume it would replace the 3, so it'll be your daily. Id go with the BRZ. You can get heated seats (Limited) which Im sure the wifey would like.

I'm leaning toward frs. My coworker just got one and I was like WTF I NEED THIS.
And I really don't care about the heated seats. haha It's never really cold in socal anyway.
How's the trunk? Is it pretty big?

As far as trunk space - its pretty good for its segment. I can go to Costco and fit 2 weeks worth of food/drink in the trunk. granted, I was always pretty good at Tetris.

Yeah, the problem is most people associate scion with 17 year old fast and furious boys and terrible driving girls driving TC's, or 45 year old tree hugging mid life crisis butch types driving Xa's and Xb's. The FR-S is a step in the right direction to break that negative association though. I still break neck every time I see one drive by.

Yes it does need more low, badly. But Im waiting to get new tires before I adjust the ride height as I want to see how wider tires fill out the wells first.

Probably not. I like the factory lines, and none of the widebody kits out there are done right IMO. The one I do like (Rocket Bunny) is a bit much for a 200hp car. Id need 500+hp to pull off that look, and thats not where I want to go with this car yet.

I agree, although the widebody looks awesome, the car doesn't have the balls to pull it off (performance-wise). Either route you take, the car looks stunning.

How much was the car after everything? tax and license fee and all that?
I'm gonna go check it out this weekend.
Hopefully I can find a white one.
Wife said if I behave well for couple weeks, she'll buy it for me.
I'm so gonna behave.

Mine was just shy of $27k out the door IIRC. The BRZ would've been about $30k.
Both. The Star Specs are great tires, but they don't last a really long time. Ive already got 18k miles on them (I put them on around 1300 miles). Ive got a $50 discount at Tire Rack, so Im just looking at my options.
I have a set of brand new summer tires that were destined for the CL that are sitting in the garage, but they're 6/10th of an inch too tall for the FR-S

Im not sure. My plans may have changed (yet again).
As you know, originally I was going to get an Accord to replace the CL. But I can't find a decent chassis. Then I thought about the
car, which is an awesome idea (and will happen one day, not now though) but its a little much for a daily.
So, the plan for now is to sell the CL, part with all the J series and CL parts that I have, and pick up an 88-91 Civic hatch or CRX as a nice daily. I know that chassis inside and out and theyre easy to work on. They also take regular gas and average ~40mpg. I can get a nice one for half what a decent Accord would cost, and I still have EF parts laying around that I can toss on to have an enjoyable daily. If I can get everything sold for around what I'd like, I should be able to pocket a decent amount of money. Some will go towards the FR-S, most will go towards investments.
Short answer - Near future? Maybe a lip kit?

Morgan...you will regret this. Keep the CL. You already have a nice little lightweight car that you daily. I think you underestimate how far cars have come in the last 20 years as far as fun to drive and driving feel. I mean, yeah, the MPG are great, but at what cost? You just bought a new car so saving 100 a month on gas can't be THAT much of a driving force.

Morgan, I agree with Jeremy....as much I wanna take than engine from your hands, I would love to see you keep that car....you have put too much into the car...
but if you decide to sell, hit me up and we can work something out on the engine
